Was watching some of his videos on YouTube today. Wow what a performer. He could do it all sing, dance, and entertain. There is nothing like that today. In modern times we are stuck with “performers” who have zero talent such as Luke Bryan, Lil Nas X, etc.

I wish I was older when Michael was huge. The closest I can get is the Cirque du Soleil show which I highly recommend if you haven’t seen it.

There certainly is plenty of this[sing, dance, and entertain] out there today. However people actually creating all of the music(production) is a lost talent

I vehemently disagree. There are more people today producing their own music than ever before.

Whether or not it hits mainstream is a different story.

agreed, but I am referring to doing 100% of it and doing it with talent. The current industry is filled with separate producers, performers, ghost writers, beat makers, etc... There are numerous folks out there that put on a front that they do it, but behind the scenes, someone else is actually there

ETA, and this is not to say MJ did 100% of his work on all of his catalog, but there is a large portion that he did.

No shite. If we are talking about MJ as a musician and entertainer, he might have the most influence on music than any other person ever.

I know The Beatles, Elvis, Led Zeppelin, Little Richard, James Brown, The Beach Boys, The Rolling Stones, etc, etc, etc.. Prince is another. has all had a big influence on music, but MJ did it like no one else. He was influenced by others, but what he put together was incredible.

Just to hear the stories about how he would write a song and know exactly how he wanted it to sound and expected everyone who worked with him to be perfect. It was probably a bitch to work with him because of his expectations, but he was probably the best entertainer ever... Hands down.

Sure, for shitty mainstream pop music.

The internet and places like sound cloud and Spotify have drastically changed how music is made, distributed, and consumed by the general public.

People who always just complain about today's music being Luke Bryan and other shitty pop music really just show how badly they suck at finding music they like.

I still like MJ's music, but this is a shitty take. He was an icon at the time but he wont be the last.

There are lots of talented entertainers Male and female these days.
