Mexico spinoff..why not just invite the US military in....

41Have us bring in 500-100k troops and just abolish the cartels and the crops. Have us a couple of bases there and we help their police going forward with raids and arrests, until the its cleaned up and maintainable. And they also help secure the border from that side.
It would be a win all the way around for everyone. And before you speak of costs, it would immediately reduce the costs we already spend fighting all of this shite.

Well to be completely fair, I'm not sure if the poor bastards sent down to fight a well armed irregular army would consider this to be a "win" for them. It's Afghanistan without the beautiful landscape and friendly locals.

The cartels might be more dangerous than ISIS. A lot of those guys are former military. Some are even former SF. As much as I would like to wipe out the cartels, it would be a legitimate conflict. There would be no room for PC bull shite.
