First of all, the Mexican government and military is corrupt and on the take. They don't want the cartels cleaned up like you assume they do.

Number two, you and many others overestimate the ability of the US military to resolve situations like those that exist in Mexico. Your naive if you think our armed forces can just waltz into Mexico and clean it up. It's not a training exercise. The real world is far more complex than what you apparently understand. "Too easy?" Not by a long shot.

pointless unless we abolish drug laws. further, it's not like they wear uniforms so you know who to shoot.

The cartels are real deal. It isn't some frick around gang

The cartels are ZERO with our air support demolishing the crops. What exactly would they be fighting for at that point? We dont want the country...we just would be chasing out the bad element.

I dont see the heavy loss statements. It would be in tandem with the government..bot going in alone or against the will of the people.
Once you show the people theres a real shot to crush the cartel..the people will join.
Wouldnt take 2 years IMO, for the cocaine element to be crushed and chased out to other places

the point you're missing is as long as drugs are illegal, some cartel somewhere is going to exist. you can't have one without the other, and people are not willing to give up their drugs.

I'm not missing anything...the point is to clean up Mexico to a point where it can operate and sustain economic growth in all sectors. And rid the US of the constant and expensive (billions per year) drug problems that honestly, cant be measured
