That’s correct. I’m still waiting for Glassman’s invite. Or maybe yours.

Nope...

But I know people who are and let's just say, I'm definitely not on the same socioeconomic level as them...

Why does there have to be "recent development?"

Because OP said metairie was “booming” there’s nothing booming about a suburb that has barely changed in the last 20+ years.

Vets looks the same as it did when I was growing up. Parts of metairie road have been developed or redeveloped but the vast majority of it looks the same as it did 20 years ago.

Old Metairie, especially around the country club could indeed be considered a crown jewel of the state

Yes the Old Metairie Conservation District is probably the nicest area in the state. Honestly, Northline Street may very well be one of the prettiest residential streets in the country

If you go south on Bonnabel at the exit, yes.

Haven’t been to Metairie in a few years but grew up in Old Metairie. I really miss riding my bike to Sal’s to get ice cream and bringing it to Metairie playground. Mark Twain’s was great too.

The Great Wall in the strip right there was the goat Chinese restaurant on the metro area. So good. Hope Shelly and her family are well.

Metairie and Kenner to me are the wrist cities I have ever been to from an aesthetic standpoint

Everything seems tired, no charm, and the way all the streets connect to major highways with multiple entry points and zero zoning laws where you can have a business in the middle of your “neighborhood” sucks

I was so lost when Metairie people would talk about neighborhoods when I first got there. It’s just a collection of through streets . There aren’t neighborhoods as I see it besides the country club side of old metry

It’s literally the worst of both worlds. You don’t have any charm and benefits of a city, and you don’t have any benefits of a suburb(good schools, clean, new, etc)
