Totally agree.

I don't even want a wedding shower. At least not a traditional one with that crap. I have no idea how to say no without sounding rude to the person trying to throw you one lol

My sister and brother in law had separate showers. All the women went their house and all the men went to his buddies house down the street and ate BBQ

I had a couple of my buds come to our baby shower, but as soon as they started the girly crap, we busted out of there and headed to the gun range. It was a total of 5 guys. If you go, make sure other guys are attending, and that there is something else to do besides the shower.

Some friends of mine had a couple's baby shower a couple years ago. It was a decent party actually. We sat outside, ate some good jambalaya, drank beer and watched the Saints-Chiefs game. (Well, the Saints lost, which sucked) Of course, the mom-to-be is pretty chill, she wouldn't be the sort to have all those lame baby shower games. She just had a board to pick the baby's name, weight and date of birth.

Agreed.

Also, if the plan is to stay around the house (or wherever the shower is) bring some alcohol because you'll all have a DD anyway.

My buddy just had one and invited a bunch of us guys. I guess the guy version is called a "diaper party" these days.

We brought some diapers and grilled, drank, and played horseshoes and washers. The women were off doing their own thing. Had a pretty good time to be honest.

Some friends of mine did a similar thing. I got frickED up drinking rum at the guys' party. Like my wife had to drive me home fricked up. Like puking in the bathroom fricked up. Like falling out the bed fricked up.

They just want more gifts. They usually get my regrets and a pack of bibs or something. I'm not spending a weekend afternoon doing that shite.

Unless there is a chance this baby shower could turn into a key party I don't see any reason for you to go.

A buddy of mine whose wife is preggo sent out an email the other day that he was going to BBQ some pulled pr0k. This was followed up almost immediately by an email from his mom-in-law saying to RSVP the BBQ but that in reality she was having a surprise baby shower for him and his wife.

I was horrified. My friend was going to spend the whole week planning an outdoor get together with his buds only to be cock blocked at the last minute by his mother-in-law. His anticipated day of gluttony and beer drinking was going to be transformed into a baby shower. How fricked up is that?

I suffered a brief dilemma of whether to go or not. I mean he's my bro so maybe I should go and help ease his pain. But in the end I couldn't do it. frick that.

I went to one once only because the guys' only job was to drink outside and flip burgers on grill. Not a bad scheme.
