Duh. It's the balance of what the friendship is worth vs. how difficult it is to keep in check that truly defines a male/female friend relationship. In my experience, anyhow.

I've got several male friends that just...throw out the suggestion every once in awhile. Usually one solid

They can if the guy isn't attracted to the girl. I grew up with one of my best friends and it's purely platonic. I'm not attracted to her and she isn't attracted to me, it works.

Agree 100%. I've ever only maintained 'friendships' with a girl I thought in the longrun I had a chance with.
The girls I thought I had only friendships with and no attraction to eventually wanted more.
Either way one wants something more out of it whether they act that way or not.

Yeah, I cannot think of a single girl that I spend time with even semi-frequently that I wouldn't want to frick if given the chance. I think it's balanced out for guys by trying to frick/date girls outside of the friendship circle.

This is also true. My roommate and I are like this. However - We don't drink together. EVER.
Only other "spoken out loud" rule we have: If I introduce him to a female while we're out doing something - He can hit on her. If I introduce him to a girl at the house - He cannot hit on her.

I am also happily married, and this friendship is important to me. But because if the marriage, I've gotta cool it, obviously. I had really convinced myself it was fine.
