do not use credit.

I disagree with this one. I think you have to use credit on a limited basis early on in order to build up a positive credit history. That way, down the road, one can get a decent interest rate when they need to purchase a car or a home. The danger is in getting in over one's head.

Great links! Your first link had nothing to do with race, your second specifically said whites have higher IQ than blacks and your third once again had nothing to do with race.

I said
quote:

Here are a few peer reviewed, published studies that tie what you would call IQ and academic success more to socioeconomics than race. Paraphrasing SPF earlier, the effects of PTSD and poverty on brain development makes it damn near impossible to correlate race and IQ. Race and poverty strongly correlate with socioeconomic status.

Link 1
quote:

Results demonstrate that the proportions of IQ
variance attributable to genes and environment vary nonlinearly with
SES. The models suggest that in impoverished families, 60% of the variance
in IQ is accounted for by the shared environment, and the contribution
of genes is close to zero; in affluent families, the result is almost
exactly the reverse

Link 2
quote:

IQs were also higher among children of mothers with more education and who were married during the prenatal period, and of fathers who lived in the home. IQs were lower among children of mothers who were under 20 years of age, who had had several prior pregnancies, who were older at menarche, and who were shorter. Mean IQs were higher for children whose mothers had better prenatal care, longer pregnancies, heavier placentas, deliveries not assisted by forceps, and among children with larger height, weight, and head circumference measurements at 4, 8, 12, and 48 months

Link 3
quote:

The results demonstrate that intelligence is a powerful predictor of success but, on the whole, not an overwhelmingly better predictor than parental SES or grades.

It's a symptom, but far from the root of the problem.

There's a cultural issue there that's regurgitating every generation. Playing the victim, and no aspirations outside of the hood.

Anecdotal but here you go. I used to work for LA OCS with some of the 'worst' adolescent males the state had custody of. The things I saw as a result of that have completely changed my view on the subject of what's wrong with welfare.

These kids were tortured by their families. Literally. I had one that was head to toe cigarette burn scars. Others were sold to adults for sex so mom could get some crack. The list goes on and on. Generally the situation was this though. No daddy. Momma didn't care so grandma got custody. Grandma knew the system and would teach that child to "act crazy" for the 'crazy check'. All while her kids, their kids, whatever crackheads they were hanging out with etc, lived in the same house as transients.

There would be three generations under one roof that were all taught to game the system. Not a single job between them. Zero education. Just a pack of feral criminals making babies and turning them insane. I personally saw that multiple times. So the people who say that fraud and abuse are overblown aren't taking into account the impact of the one's where that's actually happening. Because that pack of criminals affected everyone they came in contact with. They stole without concern. They bullied. They assaulted. They raped. And they murdered. And they made sure that the next generation they made was even less human than they were.

That's what welfare has done for those families. That's what it's done for everyone that lives in the same communities as those families. It's a blight.

Was it mostly blacks? Bc these welfare programs are available to all races but it's mainly blacks that abuse them as you describe, and I don't know why.

The most extreme cases were all blacks. But it wasn't exclusive to them.

It also revolves around community too, not just your isolated self

I don't think one group has a monopoly on welfare abuse. I see a lot of it where I work and there are not alot of black people in my area.
