serious question: if a pipeline can be built for oil, why not build a water pipeline throughout the country?

We literally just got a full month of rain. More rain here then I've seen in over 20 years. Last year was near as much, but not this much. As a result, another epic fire season will occur

Did we have widespread, accurate rainfall measurements 1,200 years ago?

If folks were willing to pay $5 a gallon for water we would.

Like a virus, people will not take it seriously until it is too late. It has become too political for us to know what is true or false. And that is scary bc if we miss this we are screwed.

In some areas people should be paying this but government has distorted price.

So there was man made climate change in the 800’s?

Columbia University needs to focus on their own East Coast theories. Plenty of irrigation infrastructure is setup in the Southwest.

This is NYC water tunnel #3. #1 and #2 are also still in operation.

NYC is fed from a reservoir North of the city which in turn is fed by aqueducts coming from upstate in the Catskills. The scale of piping that is required to feed a large city is stunning. It is not feasible to pipe water to large Western cities, especially across mountains. NYC is able to start in the mountains and use gravity to feed its reservoir. There aren't enough mountain reservoirs suitable to feed the Western cities, which is why they're in the pickle they're in. Those few reservoirs they do have are at their limits. Building tunnels like those above to feed every city and using pumps to move water from East of the Rockies would be prohibitively expensive for those cities.

We had so little rain in March in New Orleans. It really hadn’t rained a significant amount in April either, until yesterday. Strange weather pattern.

Remember in 2011, the Miss river was almost topping levees and the other side grass was dry and brittle from the lack of rain.
