Saw this documentary on Vice about a guy who has been injecting himself with snake venom for 20 yrs. He claims that it gives him strength and makes his immune system stronger. Extremely weird due but an interesting story.

There was a local "snake expert" here who sustained quite a few venomous snake bites. They turned him into a mental and physical derelict. He was, last time someone was talking about him, still alive.

mamba bites are said to be 100% fatal without anti venom...would love to know if the guy really is immune. Be pretty dumb to take 4 bites (from a very small mamba) to make a video

Injecting yourself with the snakes venom in small amounts over a period of time will result in the body developing antibodies against the venom. The process is the same which is used to develop the anti-venom used in treating snake bites, except in that process the antibodies are developed in the blood of lab animals and then collected. This practice is not that uncommon among people that work with venomous snakes on a regular basis. There have been a couple of people bitten by King Cobras that survived because they had also been injecting small amounts of the venom.
"Antivenom is made by collecting venom from the relevant animal and injecting small amounts of it into a domestic animal. The antibodies that form are then collected from the domestic animal's blood and purified. Versions are available for spider bites, snake bites, fish stings, and scorpion stings>

I think because he slaps downward, the snake can't strike up.
Same principle as stirring crawfish by hand, only reversed.

Dude has been doing this for a very long time. He started with micro amounts and built up to this. There is a video of him taking a hit from a cobra and mamba at the same time.

"Snake charmers" have been exploiting this limitation in the cobra's senses for eons, kissing the cobra on top of its head is a common move.
