You didn't know? All parents on the internet are perfect. Sanctimommies. Sanctidaddies.

Even if the ape is treating him like he would a baby gorilla, that's still too rough for a human 4 year old.

Kids are such pussies these days.

Because tranquilizers don't work instantly like they do in the movies. They take up to 10 minutes or more to take effect. In the meantime the gorilla becomes even more enraged because he's got a dart hanging out of his arse.

Makes sense

Bets on what the parents were doing instead of watching their kid?

They should have thrown the dad in the gorilla pit and let the best man win.

1. Learn to post pics baw!
2. What sucks is this zoo director will probably lose his job over some dumbass kid and their dumbass parents due to activists shitting a brick over the right decision he made.

I think the gorilla would make a better parent than those two.

What is at fault here? The gorilla was put down.

I'm not suggesting the parents should sue, but to say their negligence relieves the zoo of any culpability is wrong, and that is what the poster was implying.

Is the zoo suing the parents for having to kill their gorilla to save the child?

This would be bad form and probably inadvisable. The zoo has some explaining to do as to how a 4 year old got into the exhibit, regardless of how negligent the parents were.

I hope mom gets charged with parental neglect and the zoo Sue's her for the cost of the gorilla.

I'm sure they will have the dough to foot that check.

There's not much that the zoo could foresee about a determined little shithead kid with no respect for his parents or nature that was apparently told multiple times that he could not go play with the gorillas.

That little frick isn't going to learn a thing. He'll be in the news again before he turns 20 doing something bad.

Whoa.

He's 4 fricking years old dude.

One zookeeper said on the news last night that it could take 15 to 20 minutes for tranq darts to work on a gorilla that size.

I feel like in light of this article, something is on the tip of everyone's lips but everyone is afraid to say it.

So I will take the hit and just come out and say it...

Do they serve saltwater taffy at that zoo as well?

You people bashing the parents are some shitty human beings. Accidents happen. This is by far the fault of the zoo more than the parents. Good parents and bad parents can make mistakes that aren't worthy of this idiotic criticism. Zoos should have at least two levels of barriers that any adult or kid can't infiltrate. If you are bashing these parents, you are pure trash.
