You may not be eating as clean as you think. You have to do this meal by meal. You probably also need to up some activity. Simple walking 30 minutes a day will help.

Progress and Some physical change will motivate you for more.

The water intake the first poster suggested is vital and will benefit you more than most people know.

Some of those health issues can diminish or be eliminated so focus on that as you look at what you’re eating. It’s not easy but you have to fight daily for the change you seek.

The asthma is the only thing that really affects your quality of life. The others are easily treatable. I have friends and family that are suffering much worse than you and arent talking about "giving up".

You should count your blessings. Maybe you have a mental disorder, like depression that you aren't accounting for.

Not to be a dick but this sounds like an overreaction based on your stated conditions.

Baw just needs to get in a little bit better shape. Some people have Gerd and high BP that is hereditary. There are medications for that part. Not the end of the world or anything.

Looks like asthma is your biggest pita, with the stomach stuff pretty minor and only meds for your bp.

Asthma can make other ailments worse, but at the end of the day it’s not a death sentence.

From a young age, my kid would try and feel sorry for himself (he has asthma). It was heartbreaking but years of me yelling “it ain’t easy..” and him laughing and yelling back “being wheezy!” Has put a not so negative spin on it.

We talk about kids with cancer and how asthma is manageable.

Sounds like depression might be issue #1 with you. (Not trying to be an a-hole)

The definition of good health is dying as old as possible.
I like to say it’s dying young at a very advanced age.

OP - Diet, supplements and yoga will probably solve 85% of your issues. But you can’t be a tard about it and expect all the info and understanding to just fly in your brain.

It’s time to think of yourself as a 5’7” lab rat and start learning and experimenting on yourself.

Probiotics were a great suggestion. KM/Matol will stop the GERD, C60 will get rid of your bodies oxidative stress, 4 grams of vitamin C will toughen up your cell walls keeping disease out.

Keep experimenting with the rest and good luck.

None of those pathologies are debilitating. Sure they suck, but each one can be controlled with the proper medications. My advice...Stay active. Join a gym and get some sun exposure. Find therapeutic happiness and do everything in your power to avoid adding an antidepressant to your list of medications.

Would also recommend you get checked for sleep apnea. Very unusual to have high blood pressure at such a young age, and most ‘familial’ hypertension is OSA/weight related. Obstructive sleep apnea is a very common cause of hypertension in young people, and with your weight/BMI you would be at risk.

The blood pressure is hereditary. My dad had it in his 20s, my sister got it at 19 and I had it at 23. Every member of my immediate family (mom, dad, sister) as well as a lot of people on my dad's side of the family (uncle, aunt, one cousin) all take blood pressure medication.

I truly understand why they call it the silent killer. My dad had gotten a blood pressure machine and tested mine out. I didn't have any symptoms but my blood pressure was 150/100 and my heart was racing. Crazy thing was I felt fine.

I have thought about sleep apnea but the asthma doctor I go to (who also does sleep apnea) says I don't have the symptoms to justify being tested.

Just be disciplined when you eat. Eat a good dinner but a modest lunch. Cut back on carbs. I eat fruit six days a week for breakfast. You will lose weight if you are disciplined in eating and exercise. That may help the blood pressure. Get a good PCP and line out your plan.

It just stinks because I feel so powerless to do anything about it.

But you’re not powerless
You can make lifestyle changes that should make a noticeable difference in your health

I’m not judging, I’ve gained weight & have been lazy about doing anything about it

Okay some of this you need to explain. KM/Matol, I have no clue what that is. C60, what is that?

I am completely okay making myself a lab rat the problem is my wallet isn't exactly the best. My take home weekly is around $700. Luckily it's just me, no wife or kids but a lot of these things aren't exactly cheap.

I guess the part that makes me angry is seeing people in their 20s and 30s (including my age and older) who are pretty much in perfect and have to do nothing to achieve it. I guess part of me gets angry that my body has decided to break down at such an early age.

Every male in my family has gotten high BP around 30. I was in the best shape of my life at that age and had it. It's not the end of the world though.

Bro, you need to go on an elimination diet. Our daughter has eosinophilic esophagitis and she used to drink an inhaked steroid every day. We did an elimination diet and cut her eosinophils down to zero. It's extreme but we did it for over a year before intoducing fooda back in. Whole family yet did it. I lost 30 lbs.

We cut out gluten, dairy, soy, chocolate, sugar caffeine. Basically everything we ate we made or it was a fruit veggie or meat. It worked. Talk to your GI doc. It worked wonders for us.

No it's probably the least of my worries. It's the Asthma and regular infections that are really starting to get me down.

I don't know if I have it in me to go that drastic. I'm not exactly a great cook. Sure I can cook some basic things but I'm not a chef.

Doctors have never said I was gluten or dairy intolerant and that doesn't run in my family. Given I'm not against trying an elimination diet but I don't even know where I would begin.

And there are a bunch of kids that would think the same about you. I'm only a couple years older than you and I'd trade for your health in a second.

I really think the elephant in the room here is that you sound like depression is actually your biggest issue.

Do atkins to lose the weight. Then start the exercise. Exercise with extra lbs is a morale killer. Keep doing atkins to keep it off. The longer you keep it off the easier it is to keep off. Atkins is not the bacon diet. It is really just eating like a damn human being again. No garbage foods like Doritos. Once you cut the garbage out an apple tastes like a gd snickers bar.
