Eh that's not that uncommon to still be snowing in the Rockies this time of year. When I lived near Rocky Mountain NP, it was fairly typical to get snow past the first of June.

I'm jealous, but have you verified if Going to the Sun road is open the whole way?

The park just reopened today under Phase 1 but the road is not open to cars beyond Lake McDonald Lodge. You can hike/bike a little ways but not past Avalanche. The park may open the road to cars to Avalanche soon but they haven’t even hit Logan Pass with the plows yet.

Two Medicine, St Mary and Many Glacier entrances remain closed and will be closed until the Blackfeet lift their travel bans. As of now, July 1 is where they stand for reopening.

Montana is crazy. I was up there one year in early June for work. Coming from Houston, I didn't pack anything for cold weather. But wouldn't you know it, a blizzard in June.

I was a young lad many years ago,23, and my dad ask if i could help move him and my stepmom up to Missola , Mt. He was living in louisiana at the time. So i agreed to help them drive all their animals and belongs up there. It was June and about 90 degree when we left Louisiana. I had packed for a few weeks of being up there. Well what i had packed was tshirts and shorts. It was June fricking 19th up there and it started fricking snowing and was in the 30's and 40's for a whole week. I had to go to walmarks and buy winter clothes that i would use for a week before it got back into the 60's. Thats my montana story and why anyone would live in a place where it snows in june is beyond me. My dad moved back to Louisiana a few years later without my help

I’m going to RMNP with the family in late June. I can’t wait to get away to the mountains.

Yeah, I thought it was often late June at the earliest before that typically opened.

Doesn't really seem worth a trip, if he's never been there.

Oh wow! Where is that? I’m going to Glacier NP next week. I wasn’t expecting it to be snow covered!

Probably won't be. That will melt quickly.
