One concern is that the success won’t translate to less skilled therapist. Trials and therapy were administered by people who dedicated their lives to this endeavor, and it may not be easily reproducible.

MDMA is fricking awesome. But if used too much too often it can cause depression.

With that said, I can absolutely see how it can help with PTSD.

They’re not going to let a non-prescribing therapist to administer themselves without significant training and certification. There are programs where you can be trained to be a psychedelic assisted therapy provider but it generally takes about a year (250 training hours), attendance to multiple retreats, and a cost of around $10,000.

IPI is one of the more reputable trainings and works with MAPS.

I've read several books, Jr. More importantly I've treated hundreds of mentally ill patients that have been dosed with mind-altering drugs.
The few that benefit are far outnumbered by the ones whose symptoms of mental illness are exacerbated by these drugs. But hey, what's not to like about a psycho operating a motor vehicle while hallucinating?

Yea because that's exactly how it works.

There's a massive difference between taking LSD and MDMA for recreational purposes vs administration in a clinical setting. It's actually used as a tool that accompanies therapy sessions, not just a "get high at home and call me in the morning" type of thing.

You sound rather naive.
So drugs like Prozac, Xanax, and others are not abused, right?

Oh, but the psychotropic hallucinogenics won't be. Do you promise?

I could see wanting a controlled environment for a mushroom or LSD trip if you were really trying to deal with something like PTSD, but mdma, X, Molly. I’ve never heard of a “bad” experience with it. Always postive…..even if cut with something and you don’t feel the goods do to speak but I don’t think you would need and administrator in a clinical setting….

I only know about shrooms but if you are schizophrenic, bipolar it is common knowledge from people “in the know” to not take them. If you take SSRIs it simply won’t do you much good. Shrooms are best for anxiety, ptsd, ocd, addictions. Or to just enjoy assuming you aren’t schizo or bipolar. People who have severe mental problems would mostly be advised to stay away from them

Eta: Can help with depression also

My comedowns (and the “next day stupids”) from MDMA were never awesome, nothing therapeutic about that part

I dunno man. Every time I use MDMA I am pretty irritable and somewhat depressed for about 72 hours after I come down. Not sure how that translates to “therapeutic”.

Yeah, same. The crash was the reverse of the high. This was 25 years ago but i still remember the crash.

That's a bummer for you guys. For most of us it is several hours of the best feeling ever followed by a very mild come down.

Psychedelics and weed have vastly positive usages, medically.

They are not the same as Crack, heroine, meth, fentanyl, etc., even recreationally. The obnoxiously conservative types would do well to know that.
