It would not have been a big deal if he didn't use it to harass me on a continuous basis. I'm proud of being Italian (I was born there so I'm 100% Italian). But you know actually painting that bs in black spray paint on my door was crazy. I knew he had some serious problems but the Dean was protecting him, who knows why.

Who was the Dean? Looking into this creep, he doesn’t have much research output over the past 10 years (i.e. minimal grant money to the university) and doesn’t seem to be a great instructor. I’m guessing attracting a phd in physics to McNeese is not an easy task, so he wanted to hold onto him?

I cannot be 100 % sure but the building was locked during the weekend and he had keys to the building (he was the department head at that time). He was playing anti-immigrant songs and he would call me in his office and would tell me the song was for me. When I told him I would report him to the Dean he sent me an email offering 2000 dollars to stop doing that. So stupid. But the Dean didn't do a thing against him even with all the evidence. McNeese has a bad reputation for this kind of thing. They got sued by the Federal Government for not being up to date with the Disability Act. There is a video out there where the President of McNeese says "People with disabilities can go to other universities" during the trial.

Right, I was instead publishing papers, getting grants from NASA, and working with engineering students on different research projects. Brought in several hundred K in grants. Well, I ended up at Northwestern eventually where I got DARPA grants for a few M. Loss for McNeese but it was not fun going through that crap.

Physics is very competitive and there are few positions around. Believe it or not, getting a professor job in Physics is very difficult even in small universities like McNeese. We did try to hire another professor and we had almost 100 applicants and some with MIT and Caltech Ph.D.s.

Not allegedly, they found 250 child pornography pics and 52 videos on his computer. He admitted to this and he was sentenced.
