I don't believe this is correct. I remember a story that happened in Central (Louisiana) a couple of years ago where one brother(?) or friend(?) found out that there was some cheating going on and they had a big car chase through Central. It ended when one guy got out of his truck and started approaching the window of the other vehicle. The guy in the vehicle shot and killed the guy walking up and he was not charged with murder/manslaughter. They said he was justified in doing so.
You have to prove there was a verifiable, reasonable threat to your life, or you have to prove he was entering the vehicle.
You can't just have words with someone, them get out of their car and you blast them dead and walk away freely. There is more to it than that.

I passed criminal law, I know the standard, but the guy said if someone approaches your vehicle that you can shoot them is just wrong. Even if someone walks up to your car yelling they want to kill you, I wouldn't think you would be justified until they psychically began to act on it. Words aren't enough to justify a shooting.

Wrong!
27 pages so far that proves this for sure....SHUT UP AND CALL A LAWYER! if you ever get in a bind! Don't start spitting off what the law is to the cops.

Yes they are inaccurate in many instances. But to just to start making up wild theories is dumb.

Only road not covered are the facts.

Not really. I always assume someone is innocent until proven otherwise.

Shaun King 2 hrs · FYI. I'm all over the murder of #JoeMcKnight. I'm following every move of the police department, investigators, and his murderer. Furious and heartbroken for his family.
Riots starting soon now

No, you're wrong in the context of this conversation. If McKnight got out of his car and was walking towards Gasser's car, Gasser cannot justifiably open fire on him. That is a fact.

This might be a situation that requires a little rioting if what all the witnesses are saying is true. Pretty unacceptable to let a man go who shot a guy in broad daylight in clear view of a dozen people.

There has to be video from that Shell gas station.

Just posting for informational reasons....
Stand Your Ground Law:
The stand your ground defense may apply and permit a victim to brandish or use a firearm, depending on state law, in the following situations:
•Beyond the house. If a person is confronted in his vehicle or on his residential property including the driveway, swimming pool area, or land around the home, he may respond with a firearm.
•A public place. If an aggressor uses force or threatens violence against another in a public place, the person being attacked or threatened has no duty to choose an apparent safe way to retreat, and may instead use the amount of reasonable force necessary to fend off the attacker.

The likelihood of a camera getting anything from that far away with the SUV between the camera and shooting is pretty slim.

No it isn't. Gasser could have been threatened before the victim got out of his car.
