Exactly what it is
Go to Google Maps and put in Pennington Field. It's where I played my high school ball, 30 year old stadium. People these days in DFW will say meh but when I show it to people in Iowa or Seattle or Kentucky they are amazed at it.
However when it opened in 1988 people said the same thing. It's too big, too fancy, too overboard. But it's a status symbol and dick swinging.

Then the ISD for that particular school will vote to tax for this reason.
Yall dont know how awesome ISD's are for families lol.

because they should have given that 70mil to north forest ISD duh.
They likely already give a shite ton of money to poor districts via Robin Hood.

Places like this need new schools due to overcrowding.

Regardless that's a dumb move on their part.

Things will change in 30 years
30 years ago all the rich upper class whites lived in East Fort Worth and Hurst-Euless-Bedford. White flight now has those places with more minorities than whites living there.
Who is to say 30 years from now McKinney or Allen won't suffer the same fate.
Pennington Field used to be filled packed full for my high schools games when I was a kid, now it's not even 50% full for their games unless they are playing Trinity. Waste of a 13000 seat stadium

The primary purpose of a high school is to educate its students. I don't think spending $70 million on a football stadium is the proper use of taxpayer funds, regardless of whether or not the local citizens voted on it. To me it shows a fundamental lack of prioritizing educational commitments.

Priorities in this country are so out of whack it's ridiculous.
Their schools are top notch. No overcrowding. Why not?
Id be curious to know what the teachers get paid there vs the national average. If they are spending 70 million on a football stadium, please tell me their teachers are making significantly more there.

my friends daughter goes there. She got flooded out of Denham High. Doesn't want to move back. Can't say I blame her.

I'll ask again. Do you not think the facility will have a ROI?
