As always...it's okay for the cop to cuss you out and yell at you, but as soon as you do it to them...nah enjoy cuffs.

So far, we all agree that the cop is trash, the mom is trash and that the cop needs to relinquished from his duties as a cop.

One larger problem that we are all ignoring, (casually, purposefully, or unintentionally) is that these cops singled out the black teenagers. Now we don't know what was said in the 911 call, or what else happened around the scene that wasn't videotaped, but there was a clear decision made here (by the cop) that black = trouble = must apprehend = if the perpetrators do not comply (regardless of how egregious and ludriocus the actually level of threat was), lethal force will be used.

Now we have a bunch of 13-16 years olds, of all races and ethncities, that are seemingly getting along, besides the trash mom with a 1960s state of mind, and the few kids that fought (as if kids haven't fought before). This is the new America -- a lot of intermingling, a lot of cultural mixing /swirling , etc. I love it .

But here we have this pretty blatant and explicit message sent home to our (based off the video, middle to upper class ) black youth being told, "YOURE NOT WELCOMED," and "YOU WILL ALL BE ASSUMED DANGEROUS" by our law enforcement. These kids were picked out of a bunch, in front of their peers of all colors, and singled out because of their race. I watch it, and I can't but think how wholly demeaning and humiliating it must have been for those kids to have experienced that in front of their peers. For a generation that is more accepting than all generations before, this has got to be an eye-opening and humbling experience.

You wanna see race relations really get worse? Wanna see our country go backwards? Use policing tactics akin to pre-integregation and lets see how we really advance as a society.

I feel horrible for the all the kids that had to see that. We have a ways to go, and the first step in doing so it acknowledging that there is a bias against black males, regardless of their socioeconomic status.

I should note, that there are many things those teenagers could have done themselves to not give the cop reasons to escalate the situation, but those really don't matter here

This story fricking infuriates me. You could see a mile away how this would play out if the black kid retaliated.

In my own experience dealing with people hurling racist insults, ignoring them is the best weapon. It's like they're confused when you don't react to them.

That would have been a better ending. Instead, the trashy white woman drives home laughing about it while the kids get cuffed.

As I said, infuriating.

Parts of me agree with you. Sometimes, I do feel like we have to be smarter, and not fall into the traps (ones you and I can pretty evidently see) that are laying there. Falling victim to a lack of knowledge, self-restraint, and a level headedness gives way to the self-fulfilling prophecies that they want to manifest.

Parts of me also know that sometimes, there is only so much a person (or group) can take. At some point, the perpetrator has to be held accountable for their actions.

But we live in a society where the 2nd reactor is always held to higher level of culpability than the instigator.

Gotta smarten up and be wise

Wow, paint with a broader brush maybe..... Mckinney is actually a great place to raise a family, but hey, being rated the best place to live in the country is probably meaningless....

There probably is. Admitted, from a white male.

I assume we can also all agree that bias against black males likely has to do with the criminality and violence that is disproportionately prevalent among black males?

I mean, if we can agree on these two bedrock things, both of which are pretty obvious to anyone being objective, I think it'll be legitimate progress.

That was also my impression. In particular, the two black boys at the end were very articulate and respectful, and seeing that dumbfrick treat them like ghetto trash makes me want to punch him in the dick.

I'm surprised no one has yet mentioned the "put your face on the ground" comment he made. What kind of shite is that? "Get on the ground" I understand, but "face on the ground"?

I think that def depends on where in the country. If it is areas that affluent middle to upper middle class black families is something of a new trend I can see where you are coming from.

In areas like I grew up outside DC you don't get that vibe.

Comes down to socio economics

you dont see those problems with blacks living in areas like the one in this video.

The older black guy in the video was dressed better than the dude in jorts and the other with crocs on.

I'll say that there is some credence there . However, I think where we differ i believe that a superficial examination of those crime statistics do not wholly depict a story that is more embedded multiple facets of our society. how and why we got here (pre-integration) is just as important in explaining the current state of affairs as the post-integration relations. The genius of supposed black male criminality can't be explained by an FBI crime report

Would love to see another news story about this cop.

Anytime i hear of a police tragedy i think about cops like this.

Sadly, that's how I'm getting too. The innocent cops that get ambushed does not help and is causing cops to be even more aggressive. However, if the scumbag cops who have been just as criminal as the guys they're putting away were to show up on another news cast about something happening to them, I wouldn't feel bad about it.

Sounds like pig Latin?

The white kid as filming and wasn't told anything.
He said two of the black kids were with him.
Said kids said they were just at a party.
Yes it was obvious they were only focused on the black people.

Yep. When I was that age (early 90's) it was SOP to run when the cops busted up a party. They knew it and we knew it. Saves them paperwork and booking time and solves the problem in two minutes.

I read an article about it on huffington post and it seems like.

1. Big white woman starts mess
2. Young black woman tries to break it up
3. Big white woman starts fighting
4. Fight gets broken up
5. Big white woman calls the cops about "black people" being at the pool.
6. cops runs (falls and gets back up) into the situation and instantly starts riot control of the black kids

Stopped watching the video at 3:30. I was expecting some ghetto action but these kids seemed pretty suburban and non threatening.

The cop is a TPOS and was way too disrespectful and handsy. He escalated the situation and at one point another cop grabbed his arm to keep him from tazing (assuming that wasn't a gun) some teens.
