There is a "big mac index" that's supposed to be a more true measure of inflation.
The combo, anyway, seems to have doubled in price in about 10 years.
Also, Jumbo Jacks were $.99 in the 2000's. Like $3 now.

I remember in HS a quarter pounder combo was $3.23 with tax. I needed to find 3 dollar bills and a quarter for after football practice. I wonder what that is now? $8-9?

I can confirm this.
There is nothing down there.
A few years ago, they added a Family Dollar or Dollar General near my Aunt’s house in Coden which is just east of Bayou L Batre on the road to Daulphin Island. Life’s little conveniences.
That place was isolated and quiet. I wish I could move there until I found out about how crazy some of their property taxes can be on assessed items that literally have no value.
