McDonald's goes full virtue signal, erroneously cites Michael Brown and Alton Sterling

As victims when officers were exonerated (rightfully) after the facts emerged.
In an ad, no less.
In an ad, no less.
quote:
On Wednesday, McDonald’s unveiled a new advertisement proclaiming “Black lives matter.” “They were one of us,” the silent video advertisement by McDonald’s declares, listing the names of George Floyd, Trayvon Martin and five other minority Americans whose violent deaths have made national headlines. “Trayvon Martin. Michael Brown. Alton Sterling. Botham Jean. Atatiana Jefferson. Ahmaud Arbery. George Floyd,” the ad begins – before proclaiming solidarity against America’s “systemic oppression and violence”: “They were all one of us. “We see them in our customers. “We see them in our crew members. “We see them in our franchisees. “And this is why the entire McDonald’s family grieves. “It’s why we stand for them and any other victims of systematic oppression and violence. “Today we stand with black communities across America. Which is why we’re donating to the National Urban League and the NAACP. We do not tolerate inequity, injustice or racism.”

Facts are irrelevant as long as we feel good.

The officer in the Michael Brown case was exonerated based on evidence collected by the Obama Justice Department.

I believe he's suggesting that using those names wasn't unintentional on their part.

Oh it wasn't.
That isn't what erroneous means in this context.

Of course, but it was no "error" on THEIR part.

Doesn’t look like they are doing anything with the CD’S on that table.

Just curious, could they post each persons criminal record and work history to prove what upstanding citizens these people were? Asking for a friend.

Anyone else think it's hypocritical for Ronald McDonald (a black man) to appropriate white culture by going around in white face all these years?

Give them time. I imagine Gavin Long who shot the 6 LEO after Sterling's murder will be honored soon.

I knew what he was saying too. The problem, however, is that created perception has now become, or at least now trumps, reality.

I said this in another thread, they have to throw out names that dont fit their narrative because they cant think of enough of them.
