She didn't start until her late 30s, her grand daughter who has worked for McDonalds for over 20 years was her last customer.

quote:

A McDonald’s cashier who predated the rollout of McNuggets and Happy Meals during her more than four decades at the fast food chain is hanging up her drive-thru headset.

Dot Sharp, who turned 84 last month, served her very last customer — her granddaughter — from the drive-thru window at a McDonald’s in Gibsonia, Pa., on Friday, according to Business Insider.

“The drive-thru line was wrapped all the way around the building because so many of her regulars wanted to wish her well,” a spokesperson for McDonald’s franchisee Tri County Management told the outlet.

Sharp initially landed the gig in September 1978 and, as a single mother, enjoyed the flexible schedule.

At the time, an order of small fries was just 35 cents, and the chain’s signature Big Mac sold for a mere 90 cents

she was there before happy meals and McNuggets

My kids were watching some YouTube kid who walks around bougie parts of Los Angeles and gives out money and does other challenges and shite. They go into a McD’s and every person working there is the cleanest cut and courteous and friendly, etc.

It made me think of that Wendy’s crew who deals with Reggie Bush and Reggie Miller always hanging around their location.

I wish they’d remake those commercials starring the crew from my local Wendy’s or McD’s. They’d all be smoking cigs outside the doorway, still on the headset taking orders with the smell of skunk weed billowing out when I’m picking up kids happy meals.

About to put a boycott on this shite. It’s garbage. It’s time to treat it like garbage. Why keep giving the Villuzzo’s money to poison my kids?

And that’s why McDonald’s service is better on 1st shift, there’s a few old lady’s at the one by my house, they’ve been there over 12 years now & probably much longer. Then you go there in the evening when the kids and assistant manager are working and it takes forever.

If she would have put $500 in McDonalds stock when she started d reinvested dividends she’d have ~$245k in stock today and she’d be collecting $1,400 a quarter in dividends.

If she would have exchanged her McDonald’s stock for Chipotle stock when it was spun-off from MCD in 2006, she’d have over $1,000,000 in Chipotle’s stock now.

Either way, I hope she was investing in her company - it generated a 14% annualized rate of return over her career.
