Wife is looking for a new car and likes to CX-5. Does anyone on here have one?
Thoughts, good or bad?

Mazda makes a great polished turd. That’s my experience.

Going to need pics of your wife to see if she’s CX-5 material

I rented one for a week and freaking loved it! Im not an SUV guy, but if I was I would buy one.
The main reasoned i liked it was because of how quick it was, and how well it handles for an SUV. I hate SUVs because of the handling, but this one was different.
I could pull over on the left hand shoulder of the interstate during rush hour, and feel comfortable about gunning it and merging back into traffic.
Great vehicle. I like the radio controls too.

Looks better than others in its class. Sporty ride if you like that sort of thing. I prefer a more cushy feel.
On the plus side, the top of the line model comes with more bells and whistles than some of the luxury SUVs.
The downside is that it’s not designed for a hot climate. AC is slow and weak and the electronics went haywire in extreme heat of Texas summer.

Mazda's lineup is easily the best looking of the non premium Japanese brands.

If you happen to be in BR don’t go to Team Mazda. Terrible customer service, other than that it’s a very nice car

My SIL has a 2016 fully loaded one. Not a bad ride if you have a small family. Holds its value as well

We have a 2016 grand touring. We love it. We have around 37k miles on it. No issues so far. Leather is holding up well, and everything works just like the day we took it off the lot.
We live in OKC and it has held up great in the heat. The AC cools quickly. The heated seats work well too in the winter. Really have no complaints. Love the way it handles too.

I can’t speak to the CX-5, but I’ve had two 6’s and two 3’s and they have all been great cars.
I wouldn’t hesitate for a second to buy one if my family needed one right now.
There is one dealership in my area I wouldn’t use for service, but that’s all I have.

It's the best looking, including the premium Japanese brands.
The Lexus spindle grille is atrocious.

Mazda is making some pretty nice cars today. If she changes her mind and wants a Toyota I could help her out with that.

Got my eye on one of these as well for my new commuter.

We have a 2015 Grand touring. Been a really good vehicle, no real issues or complaints. Probably the best vehicle in it's class IMO.

I got in an accident with one Wednesday. I was in a Mazda 3 and the cx 5 took the worst of it. So there’s that.

I bought the wife (no pics) a Mazda 6 and it was a piece of crap.
