Mitch is an idiot... Why wouldn't you report it stolen....?

People almost always report them stolen. What's the point of this? Oh yeah, he gets to do a press conference and make a bunch of idiots think he's championing some extraordinary cause.
I'd venture to say that reporting it stolen is a waste of time when you're dealing with NOPD. You're just about as likely to get your stolen lucky nickel back when they're on the case

I have a problem with the grandstanding politician...
What law abiding gun owner wouldn't report it stolen.. Why does he have to make a law to do so...?

The point is that this law will do nothing to reduce crime. Law abiding citizens are already doing this and there's no way criminals will report a stolen firearm that's likely already stolen in the first place. It's political grandstanding at it's finest and will have absolutely no effect on violent crime rates.

So much truth in this. Not to mention that a large percentage of gun owners don't have their Serial Numbers written down so there is no point plus even when they have the info the police put it in NCIC wrong half the time.
