On several occasions, the council sued Latoya to force her to provide information on things.

Every time, a judge ruled in favor of Latoya

Something tells me if mayor elect Thomas hung these… they would still be up.

Who knows. It amazes me that knuckleheads in this forum actually think Moreno is the chosen one to "Save New Orleans." Which in reality, she is just another leftist lunatic. I cant respect anyone who isn't from there, muchless not even born in America, to lead .

Yeah, we should have re-hired Coach O, too.

Why would you respect anyone "from there" that proves they made bad choices by staying there?

Shouldn't someone who born and raised in NOLA, know the best interests of its citizens? Say what you want about Nagin, or the Morial's they did a better job than some thug from Compton, and some lunatic from Mexico. I am not even giving Moreno a chance, because she has none.

What's different about running Houston, Lake Charles, Beaumont, or Mobile versus New Orleans? Tackle crime, conduct infrastructure upkeep, and manage storms. But your priority is to put someone in power that knows which gas station has the best debris po boy.

12/19 Update:

quote:

After Cantrell earlier this week ordered the removal of banners Moreno’s inauguration committee hung up outside Gallier Hall, Lt. Gov. Billy Nungesser said he called the mayor-elect and invited her to hang new banners on buildings he controls in the French Quarter.

On Friday, those banners, which included messages themed around the idea of being "all in" for New Orleans, started going up on The Presbytère and The Cabildo fronting Jackson Square.

quote:

Now, the new home for the banners are state buildings located on either side of St. Louis Cathedral, where the inauguration is holding a Mass on Jan. 11 featuring interfaith blessings and music.

Todd Ragusa, a spokesperson for the mayor-elect, said Moreno’s inauguration committee used private donations to pay for the production and installation of the new banners in the French Quarter, much like it did for the banners at Gallier Hall.

"We are grateful for the lieutenant governor's partnership and the opportunity to highlight this meaningful moment in a way that honors the traditions of our city and welcomes all New Orleanians to be part of it," Ragusa said.

They should have hung them from the Pontalba to really drive the point home.
