Barbara Eden was just beautiful.

I always thought Major Nelson was a moron on IDoJ. That whole scenario would have played out very differently if I had found that bottle.

I used to watch that show and think how in the world are their so many single, attractive women in a small town?

quote:

All single-

Andy
Barney
Aunt Bea
Floyd
Goober
Gomer
Sam
Howard
Ernest T Bass
The Darlings
Helen
Thelma Lou
Clara

The Fun Girls

I was always a fan of Ellie Walker! She was his top catch but he had a solid list.

The only people who caused trouble were the mountain people like the Darlings and Ernest T, but it was mostly silly stuff. Out of towners were always the swindlers and crooks.

Ernest T going to school and showing them how he counted is all time great tv.

I love that everyone is clicking into this thread for racism, and they get hit with stupid boomer humor.

She was supposed to be Andy's main love interest but they couldn't stand each other. IIRC she only lasted one season. Andy and Aunt Bea didn't get along IRL either.

Everybody loved Don Knotts. He was genuinely a great guy.

If I had to guess, Mr. Schwamp was probably nailing most every single or married gal in Mayberry.

That was Joanna Moore.. the mother of Tatum O'Neil. I thought she was the best looking and all around damn good woman that Andy actually dated. Joanna Moore IRL had issues with drugs and alcohol.. That bastard Ryan O'Neil was a pack of trouble...

The guy who played Mr Schwamp was in a lot of episodes but never had any lines. They decided to give him a speaking part in the lodge meeting episode. If you look closely you can see his hands shaking from nerves.

Kids would never believe it today but Don Knotts was a heartthrob to ladies back then. Funny how taste change over time.

I don't recall this guy at all.

I just remember Howard Sprague getting black-balled from joining the lodge.
