Of course... I even recommend it. Some of the best lays that I have had were musicians. I even got a hand job from a female scupture, and let me tell you, if you ever get the chance....
Wait, I though you said artistic person. Never mind...

Not sure why anyone would have a problem with this.

I would imagine it would be weird as hell. Especially since they won't make eye contact with you.

How did they end up that way? Probably by having tablets thrown at them as soon as they were able to hold them up, combined with gentle parenting. I don't even think this Barbie is ASD specific, it's most kids these days.
My son's last class in elementary had five kids with earmuffs (out of 20-25), which required two or three TAs to control their outbursts and disruptive behaviors.
Parents must teach kids how to control their anxiety internally, and yet most don't.

Kids legitimately diagnosed with ASD to the point they’re using tablets for communication aids and headphones are not that way because they weren’t parented enough. And no, it’s not “most kids these days”.
It specifically says it’s for ASD:

Mattel is releasing its first autistic Barbie doll.
Created in partnership with the Autistic Self Advocacy Network, or ASAN, the toy launched Monday is meant to represent children with autism spectrum disorder and how they experience the world.

My nephew has a mild autism diagnosis. He didn't say a word until he was four years old, then started talking in complete sentences. He was obsessed with maps and numbers. He had a photographic recall of sports statistics. He was sociable enough that he was able to make some friends in school, played sports, and graduated HS as co-valedictorian. When he got to college he imploded. Had tremendous difficulty working independently, budgeting his time, etc. He sat out a year and a half before going back and is doing better this time around, He's on track to graduate this year but I don't know what he's going to do for work. He's a really nice kid and people like him, so he has that going for him. I hope it's enough to smooth over any rough spots he might have.

Teenage girls on the spectrum play with Barbie dolls? I don't believe you.

We've done this dance on ASD diagnoses before. Stop mainstreaming and retarding (no pun intended) the learning of non disabled kids.

Parents are supposed to help kids learn how to self regulate. Usually, this comes from things like saying no, or putting them in time out, or twisting an ear and saying, "we don't act this way in public." Parents are supposed to raise effective adults. Many parents take the easy way out. I don't know the kids you work with, I know my mom worked with kids that needed spit guards, etc. My issue is with the ASD designated kids that ended up there because their parents are lazy and are OK being pushed around by school districts to get the extra funding from having "special needs" kids.

Look at any kids out at a restaurant, of any class, and think of how many have tablets and/or headphones. Most of them are checked the hell out. Hell, look at the parents. Most of them will be on their phones, but at least they don't have cans on.

Depends how they're diagnosed.
While it's an ethical conundrum, it's legal if they're gumping it.

Whats the point of it though. Why not "butt ugly" Barbie or "physically abused" Barbie
My child is Autistic and fairly severe. I am sure he would care less about it and its not demeaning to him in my opinion.
But they are just using someones disability in a hope to profit which is just stupid. Most truly Autistic kids do not GAF. But still. What is the point of this product?

And you apparently missed the memo on a legitimate ASD diagnosis and the criteria if you’re labeling random kids with headphones and iPads in restaurants.

I just want to know if the tiny fidget spinner works.

Barbie doll with type 1 diabetes

quote:
Barbie and Breakthrough T1D are proud to partner on the first-ever Barbie doll with type 1 diabetes, designed with inclusion and empathy at the core. ???
?
Type 1 diabetes (T1D) occurs when the body stops making its own insulin, which is why this Barbie wears a Continuous Glucose Monitor (CGM) to track her blood sugar, and an insulin pump at her waist! The doll represents the incredible people living with T1D, and shows kids that a life with this condition is just as vibrant, fulfilling, and rich with possibilities. ?
Her blue polka dot style is a nod to the global symbols for diabetes awareness, and a reminder of the life-changing work being done by organizations like Breakthrough T1D, who are helping make everyday life with type 1 diabetes better.

At my age, I hope they don't introduce a "Hospice Ken".
