Looks more like EF-4.

I dunno - Don't see many large trees down. just smaller ones and leaves stripped off the big ones. Some big branches down, though.

Guy admits they were tough to get to today, whoever he is.

@Tornado_Steejo: A very difficult chase day in Dixie Alley. Several strong tornadoes, but we missed most of them by just a few minutes. What an exausting day

It looks like that particular unit was a rental, built in the early 80's. There are more stringent storm requirements now. That being said, they survived a hurricane that blew/washed I-10 off of it's pilings in 2004, about 1 mile away.

FWIW, each of those rental units were about 2400 square feet.

It's quieting down but it was getting hairy for a little while.

Horses are good. One of mine spent most of it out in his paddock and not in the barn from what I was told. Guess he enjoyed the rain. One of the stalls flooded some (not mine).

Prayers to all affected by this storm.

Do you keep your horses up in a storm??

Indeed, you have to be a complete immature moron to make jokes in this thread.

Amazing thing about this tornado is that it was an scary mean supercell that formed southwest of Lafourche Parish about 3:00 this afternoon and was likely a huge almost continuous waterspout for 150 miles before coming ashore near Perdido Pass/Flora Bama and then through Pensacola. Incredibly rare occurrence that shows just how rare and powerful this system truly was.

Yes, you must be right about that huge waterspout traveling unobserved over the Gulf for 150 miles. That is a great observation.

And I pray to God that today's events will prove VERY rare, as in, never to happen again in our lifetimes.

Talked to my uncle a little while ago. They live on Emperor 3 blocks from the Moorings Apts. Said he was in the yard and they heard it coming. Ran into house and got in a closet. When they came out they had lots of shingle damage on the roof and debris all over the yard. Very lucky! Prayers for all in the area

That scenario is unlikely...
