No I said it was likely producing a large waterspout for much of the time it was tracking across the GOM which isn't even remotely "absurd". The supercell that produced the EF4 tornado that went through Tuscaloosa/Birmingham on 4/27/11 formed in eastern Mississippi spawned tornadoes off and on from there all the way to North Carolina that day. That supercell yesterday was one of the long track storms meteorologists worry about in setups like this. Fortunately it spent much of its time likely producing over the GOM instead of on land. Not sure what is so controversial or "absurd" about that.

I'm hearing 9 casualties so far in Pensacola from a friend whose husband is a first responder.
Pensacola News Journal is reporting just a few minor injuries from last nights tornado.

Missed our house by one mile.

My coworkers brother's house in Pensacola was destroyed last night. He's over there helping them clean up right now. Apparently a tree came through his bedroom roof and missed him by a foot. Obviously he was shaken up but managed to only sustain a scratch on his knee. Crazy storm system. The worst cells went either to the north or south of us here in Mobile. I love a good storm, but we didn't need a tornado here like Pensacola got. Glad there were only minor injuries. That's amazing considering the damage pictures.

Do you keep your horses up in a storm??
Sorry, just seeing this. I had to quit reading all this last night so I could quite being scared and get to sleep.
Barn owner posted this yesterday afternoon. Horses with stalls all in. One of mine decided to stay out in his paddock in the rain instead of going in his stall. They have the option to go in or out.

Yesterday was wild. At least I'll be able to get some work done today. I didn't get squat done yesterday watching all of that.

So in the end there were no casualties in Pensacola? Hope that is correct. I haven't seen anything in the news today. At one point in this thread it was talked about that there could be as many as 30 people dead.
