So we can buy one, wait a little while, and then have enough for a boil?

Will take.

With our luck, they'll make a mistake and clone him.

If the started shipping them here, crawfishermen would complain that foreign cloned crawfish is flooding the market and bringing the price down.

Jake Tapper with the levity. He's good for one every now and then.

But when they say "enormous," what size are we talking about? Not crawfish species are very small, so "big" to them might just mean 1 or 2 inches.

Though Scandanavia has crawfish that are as large if not larger than ours.

I've put crawfish in seafood gumbo before because some people want them. It's not the norm but it won't ruin your gumbo.

Similar ingredients doesn't mean it's necessarily a very similar dish. The difference in roux alone makes a huge difference in taste and consistency of the 2 dishes.

It's certainly possible, but no where near common to the point where the "gumbo industry" would celebrate the discovery of a new species of crawfish.

Speaking of Mudbugs, i'm usually delivering frozen bugs from China, but it looks like there is a new place for mudbug farms:

Egypt

A company out of La, is importing them(Frozen) from Egypt and selling them. Didn't look at wholesale price, i wonder if cheaper? First i had seen of Egyptian Mudbugs.

Welp...here's a recipe for crawfish gumbo, from Gramercy, in beautiful St. James Parish just within walking distance of my former residence of Lutcher:

I love it. Zero excuse for low prices now. You got crawfish that can clone themselves?

Shoot, I'll build myself a little pond in the backyard and do a boil every weekend.
