The economic impact for this cowardly act is going to be interesting.
At a minimum, I'd think MGM would have to renovate and rebrand that property. I don't know if it's old enough to warrant razing it and building a new resort.

Safe to say the security guard stopped it if he got there after the shooting started. Paddock was ready to roll for another 10 minutes easily, but stopped because of something, and shot himself in the head
Where did you learn this?

Did you see the pictures of the room? Loaded mags everywhere, and we didn't even see the rest of the room

I didn't catch that part in the press conference. Where is that being reported?
I thought I heard that, but I was having trouble hearing the questions asked. The press conferences are running together lol

f this gets linked back to a Philippines ISIS cell, then you can bet our special operations units will have some job opportunities comin up soon.

ya, he tapped out early for sure considering all the ammo he had

he's just saying he had enough guns and ammo to keep going for 10 minutes. There are photos showing several 60 round mags that he never got around to using

lol are you serious?
The military has been actively fighting ISIS-affiliated militants in Marawai since May. The city has been an active war zone.
Yeah, re-read my posts and the article I posted from last month. We're talking about a few hundred people. The Philippines was called an "ISIS hotbed" earlier, and that's absolutely not true. It's a Christian country with a small pocket of ISIS militants.

Got a bit more clarity on the weapons, but still pretty general. I'm not sure how many he had with him in the room, but 12 had bump stocks.

They said in the earlier pc that he had fired 12 volleys.
Now tonight they said he had 12 bump fire stocks.
That's why he stopped shooting.
He was probably in the middle of changing out the magazines on all 12, when the security guard came up. He fired at him, and then figured cops were close behind so he set up shop to defend himself. They initially said he was alive when they entered but shot himself as he retreated.
This makes the most sense as to why he stopped firing.

Those ISIS cells had better get themselves some MMA fighters and QUICK.

It's probably semantics, but having a "small pocket of ISIS militants" that are waging war in your country = an ISIS hotbed in the eyes of many.

Paddock shot himself after he engaged with the security guard

They are hedging on the girlfriend now. They are now not sure when they'll speak to her.

I doubt they'd officially send one officer into the room by himself against that firepower. Now f he wanted to enter on his own that would be up to him.
They don't want to increase the chances of casualties or even a hostage situation.

They aren't razing Mandaly Bay. I've got reservations there in January and have no issue staying there.

Without getting into a gun debate, what is the logic behind bump stocks and those who purchase them? As far as I can tell, the only "benefit" is a faster fire rate. What are the major drawbacks?
Just trying to get the facts straight. TIA.

This casino business is interesting.
Didn't a large mass shooting occur at a Filipino casino/resort recently?
Shooter's GF/Wife is Filipino.
He had been recently sending large amounts of money to the Philippines.
Wonder if there is any type of connection.
