Today is yet another victory for these people. They got exactly what they wanted and now they can push for gun control.

Defend why we only affirm this one situation.
You sure as hell wouldn’t demand that I treat someone’s delusion that they are God, the president, etc.
For every other mental delusion out there, affirming the delusion makes the situation massively worse.

I've got a number friends (most of whom went to school at UW or Michigan) who live in Chicago, who are similar. I remember we were watching the Super Bowl and one of those "He gets us. All of us" commercials came on and when that reveal came up there were audible reactions from them, including one "oh frick off".
