Masks on planes have always been the most pointless of all the mandates.

I'd say masks in schools was infinitely more retarded.

Sitting in a flight currently and this is the first flight in the last 2 months in which a FA has made a comment about mask being fully up.

All others haven’t given a flying F. It’s a control thing for some of them.

Had one about a month ago, with 2 masks on...

will the individual airlines then still require it??

I doubt it. You may have raging a-hole flight attendants that love the power trip, but overall most of the airlines know mask mandates are unpopular and pointless, and it takes extra effort for them to enforce them.

I’ve got an international flight on Wednesday.

Yep got one Friday. Anyone got a link to a comfortable mask I won’t mind pretending to wear for 10 hours?

0% they let it expire.

found the thinnest most useless mask and wear that.

I was given a Chick-fil-A mask. It is super thin and damn near forget it’s there. However, I still get a bag of cashews or beef jerky and “eat” it the whole flight.

Dude get real. There is a pilot shortage already. If they lift the mandate, 75% of the pilots would immediately contract Covid and die. No more pilots. Is that a world you want to live in? Just put the mask on and listen to the CDC. They only have your best interest at heart. Just trust them. It’s for the greater good.

Isn’t there a current lawsuit brought by pilots and flight attendants of most US major airlines demanding the end to masks?

Pretty sure this time around they are morphing it into some kind of flexible thing where its mostly gone but is able to be brought back for certain locations based on its covid numbers.

At least that's what they said a month ago.

One of these the Federal Government can directly control, which is what this is all about.

I don’t understand how they can lift Title 42 on the border while keeping mask mandates on planes and trains. Then again, this is democrats we are talking about

I know. It would be nice to see the Federal Government actually "follow the science" for once.

Also, other passengers still give you crazy eyes if you walk around the airport with a mask on. But once you leave the airport, everyone chills out on pushing masks because Covid apparently doesn't follow people to other buildings.

Will be really interesting, there's a TON of business group pressure to lift the mandate. All the big name airlines are really pressing the Biden admin, as well as bus system operators across the country.

I thought I read the flight attendant Union was pushing to extend mandates. At least the last time they were set to expire last month.

White House adviser: Extending TSA mask mandate ‘absolutely’ still on the table

A top White House COVID-19 adviser on Monday said that extending the federal mask mandate for all transportation networks, which is set to expire next week, is “absolutely” under consideration.

“This is a CDC decision and I think it is absolutely on the table,” White House COVID-19 response coordinator Ashish Jha said on NBC’s “Today.”

Jha said that Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director Rochelle Walensky will make the decision on extending the mask mandate for transportation networks based on a scientific framework that the agency is developing. He also said that framework will be available in the “next few days.”

There's not a goddamn thing scientific about fricking mask mandates.

I flew two different airlines recently. As long as you are eating or drinking, you can remove your mask. It's silly to have the mandate when nearly everyone on the plane removes it to eat or drink. Do they think you can't spread Covid if you are eating and drinking, but you can't if you are not?

Not with the Seattle horror crew I had last time I flew up there on American.

No removing your mask completely. You had to pull it down, take a bite or sip, and immediately replace it. If you didn't, the twink flight attendant screamed bloody murder at you. That's all he did the entire flight...yelling at people to put their masks back on.
