Take up riding/tri/running etc... You meet so many people, without the trash of the bar scene, and hang together all of the time. Most (as I am) are married but many have friends that are not. It's really easy to meet good looking women with initiative. I have had many friends meet their girlfriend/spouse this way.

When I was dating and met my now wife, there were a lot more social interaction opportunities where you actually interacted. Sure, there were "fix ups" or "blind dates" with friends of friends (or, hell, even daughters of friends of parents), perhaps co-workers, bar-pickups, etc., but as was pointed out, the game has changed so much.

i think what has changed even more is how fast people are DTF.

several of my single friends are sleeping with several of my wife single friends. there is one of her friends that is double dipping with two of my friends, and she is interested in a third. The guys don't care.

It just blows my mind.

If you are making money, have your shite together, and aren't awkward as hell or too shy to do anything, it will be falling out the sky.

Yeah, there are a lot of cheaters in the OCD tri obsessed group, but there are many single or young good looking women with single friends.

That is certainly true (again, based on observation and anecdotes). Back in "the day" (mid/late 80s) you had to put in the time before you got in the drawers. Certainly, there was the occasional drunken hit and run, but for the most part, there was an investment of effort required.

I really don't know. If my wife left or died, I would immediately change jobs to travel less to be with my son, so the opportunity presented in a travel job would be gone.

Eta: for some reason my thought went straight to wife dying, so hookers and blow type answers never crossed my mind.

When it 'happened' to me, POF was brand new and full of trash(MUCH WORSE THAN NOW). That was my go to beside drugs and close friends. Then I stumbled around bars and met my gf.

i was early 90s, and it wasn't that much work for me. But still you usually had to go on 3 dates before the panties came off.

That's HIV's fault. True story, when that shite stopped killing so many people, the pussy got easier. Kids are fricking in HS like it's the 70s.

Never really considered that. Makes sense.

Still, my inquiry was not just about sex (despite that being one of the main goals), but re-entering the dating scene generally.
