I've actually known a few fck ups who somehow thought that having kids would help fix their struggling marriage.

If you have kids or animals that wake up early on the weekends, let your spouse sleep in and make breakfast/coffee while taking care of the dependent. It's easy and does not go unnoticed.
Cook together, play games together, do things where all media is turned off.

Little things make a difference and are the easiest to do. I think if you focus on ways to serve your spouse/make their day a lil brighter and they have the same focus....your marriage will only be the better for it
Don't take your spouse for granted and assume they already know you care about them (after all you married them) so you don't have to put as much effort. That is being lazy and will set you up for marital problems. A little bit of romance goes a long way.
