Shocked that there was any video to get....

To the honest cops reading this board, this is why people have issues with cops:

Every time, instead of coming forward, they clam up. "Blue line" and what not.
It's not impressive, no one admires your Omertà, and until you can police yourselves, people will continue to doubt you.

That's some seriously flawed logic that won't fix anything. The outrage over cops killing black people is stupid when it singles out black lives for nattering and not ALL lives for mattering.

I think the BLM movement is more about the perception that cops who kill black people aren't held accountable.

Lol, wut?

Isn't this an exact example of officers policing themselves?

Another agency came in.

They got little or no cooperation from the local yokels.

Or am I reading it wrong?

Look, nobody expects you to rat out your partner for eating a free doughnut, be when he's pumping rounds into a car, maybe you oughta come clean.

Small towns are a completely different animal.

I defended a client in a small town a few years ago. I'm talking maybe 6,000 people in the middle of nowhere. Courthouse was a one stop shop for all public business. Thr detention center was even attached to it.

Anyways, I am cross examining the officer on the stand and I'm making him look pretty foolish. I look at the judge for a second and I could tell he is legitimately pissed. He is turning red.

Then, I realized it. The judge and cop see each other every day. They work together, they eat together, their kids go to school together. I'm a pale of water trying to dilute a river of blood.

This is where you thank God for social media. Otherwise, the ranks would have closed and Lord knows if we would have ever found out the truth.

I thought the local chief is the one who brought State Police in to begin with.

What leads you to believe the other 2 officers didn't cooperate?

They are likely the key witnesses and are probably the ones providing the body can but that is purely speculative in my part.

quote: Can someone give me cliffs as to what happened? Police killed a six year old. Posters here figured the father a POS and didn't give a shite. Police turn out to be marshalls who may not have had jurisdiction. They claim to have been serving a warrant, to a person who it turns out has no warrant.s They allege the person backed into them, but no evidence of that either. Two days pass, then State Police go to interview the Marshalls, who then clam up and take the fifth. State police get a video, and decide to charge the Marshalls with murder.

Thank you.

City Marshalls are typically the service arm of the city court system. Not sure why these guys are serving warrants, instead of city police officers doing it.

One of the guys arrested is the kid of a lawyer who is a part time ADA in Avoyelles. Thus the AG got called in early.

Norris Jr's dad has been in LE in Marksville since the 70's and was the police chief of Marksville for a while. He's retired and is a part time ADA as stated above.

If a six year old getting shot in the head by rogue cops is what it takes for the popo to police themselves...

I know it's been said, but there is something really fishy about this whole story and I hope the truth comes out. Those are two shady looking cops.

We should all go to the casino and absolutely FLOOD the restaurants. When they can't accommodate - insist on some comped chips or whatnot.
