That's one response. The other is to just let him do his job.
I know you're just trolling but I'm never going to blindly obey some dude in a polyester costume and 90 days of intense cop training. It's just not going to happen.
The whole respect the badge thing is kind of silly. I don't just hand out respect for free. I'll be cool and respectful to an officer because he's a human being, but he gets no more of less respect out of me than the guy cooking my burger.

why would you ever run from the police?
To not get caught? Lots of folks dealing with stress, you add the stress of a police encounter and it puts them over the top and they panic.
Hell, when we were kids we ran from the cops several times. They'd usually realize it was a bunch of teens and pull off.

According to several people here they were well within their rights to shoot you dead.

Yeah, there are a lot of delusional people in this world. They wouldn't have survived the 70's...

The honest truth is that is exactly how 99% of LEO I have ever met feel. "Rights" are just something to get around so they can do the job. It's an obstacle, and anyone they see throwing up more resistance usually gets a healthy dose of "service". In their minds it serves as a deterrent to others who might think the same way.

did anyone catch the live stream report? someone in the crowd said she had information and the state trooper asked her to not leak it out. didnt catch the entire thing

I think it may be that there was not a warrant for the perp, that the Marshals office was acting as just a lights and sirens police force with Marksville officers working double duty writing tickets and general law enforcement. This is going to be a huge shite sandwich.
They are being really evasive

Yep, this story is tight. The information available is being controlled tightly by the State Police.

WaPo article
Here it is.
Here it is.

There have been at least 85 fatal on-duty police shootings this year that began with officers attempting to serve an arrest warrant, according to a Washington Post analysis. Police note that serving warrants is one of the more dangerous elements of their job and often result in armed confrontations. Many police departments, however, ban their officers from shooting at moving vehicles, arguing that it makes situations more dangerous for the officers as well as bystanders.

I wonder if this is accurate. If someone is trying to run over innocent bystanders or other cops I guess these departments are ok with it...do not try to protect and serve just sit back and watch.

Keep defending the actions that resulted in a 6 year old autistic child getting his head blown off by cops playing Rambo, it shows everyone who you are, it's amazing they haven't even been interviewed yet.

I will keep defending the cops actions until its proven their lives were not in danger.
The fact that he was autistic is supposed to make it worse? I haven't seen anyone say the 6yr old getting shot was a good thing...I blame the father (until knowing all the facts)...you immediately blame the cops (without knowing the facts)

The Washington Post article implies that both passengers were shot through the driver side window. That's interesting as most cars I have seen don't move sideways.
quote:
“More likely than not they were shooting into the driver side, and he was on the passenger side,” Avoyelles Parish Coroner L. J. Mayeux told the Associated Press. “He was in the line of fire.”
