Marion "Suge" Knight sentenced to 28 years

I can't believe this wasn't posted but I searched every variation of his name possible. I remember when the video of that confrontation was discussed on the OT. Some people thought it was self-defense, some folks thought it was clearly murder.

Former rap mogul Marion "Suge" Knight was sentenced to 28 years in state prison on Thursday afternoon at a Los Angeles court hearing that comes nearly four years after he killed one man and injured another with his truck outside a Compton burger stand.
The 53-year-old Death Row Records co-founder struck a surprise plea deal with prosecutors on Sept. 20, just a few days before he was to have stood trial for murder and attempted murder.
Knight instead pleaded no contest to voluntary manslaughter and agreed to a prison sentence of 28 years. The sentence represents the low point of a long decline for Knight, one of the most important figures in the history of hip-hop. At his pinnacle in the mid-1990s, he was putting out wildly popular records that are now considered classics from Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg and Tupac Shakur.
quote:
In January 2015, he got into a fight with a longtime rival, Cle "Bone" Sloan, a consultant on the N.W.A. biopic "Straight Outta Compton." In a moment captured on surveillance video, Knight backed his truck into Sloan, who was injured, then drove it forward into businessman Terry Carter, who died from his injuries. Knight's attorneys have said it was an act of self-defense. Voluntary manslaughter would normally bring a sentence of 11 years in prison, but Knight's conviction along with his previous felonies triggers California's three strikes law. That doubles the manslaughter sentence and adds an extra six years.

Right now he's wishing he'd named his label Jaywalking Records.

Deserves EVERY minute of that sentence. He is a terrible human being. No telling how many crimes he has gotten away with.

I'm thinking he's killed or ordered the killing of at least a dozen people.
Its a fascinating hole to go deep into on the internet. He is a very bad person.

Try Puffy. He’s who you have to thank for the “bling-bling era,” which is basically the moment that rap decided marketability > talent.

I’ll be curious to see if he’s a shot caller in prison or killed quickly. Could really go either way here.

See kids, this is what happens when you dangle Vanilla Ice out of an upper story window. Nobody messes with Van Winkle.
Let this be a lesson.

who killed Tupac
I know Suge was with him that night an all, but I wouldn't be surprised if Suge was the one who had him killed.
2Pac was still with Death Row at the time, but for some reason I think Suge thought 2Pac was going to leave Death Row.. So if 2Pac was going to leave, before he did, he was worth more dead to Suge than he was alive.

Without a doubt.
I’m certain that he’s getting off easy with 28 years.

Been saying this for years.

Nah. Suge Knight was sitting in the driver's seat next to Tupac when Tupac was shot through the passenger door. Suge caught some shrapnel in the head and was able to drive both of them to a hospital. There is no way Suge orders a hit then sits right next to the guy getting hit to maybe catch a stray bullet in the dome. That's just fricking stupid to suggest, even for you.
Besides, Suge's son announced today that Tupac's alive and living in Malaysia. He's got pictures of Tupac with 50 Cent and Beyonce.

Haha what? He was in the car with him. You think he had him killed while sitting next to him? Trusting some gangbanger to not shoot him as well?
