I never said you weren't a good parent. I'm simply pointing out that it's not the world's responsibility to monitor their use of a completely legal product for the sake of you not having to explain it to your kid.

Right now it’s not completely legal, although it should be. With legalization there needs to be some stipulations, like doing it in designated areas, privacy of your own home, etc. That’s all I’m saying. Be mindful of others.

I've been to 3 legal states, and I guess it would depend on how we are defining widespread. Walking around downtown Denver at night and the smell was present everywhere I walked. Same with Vegas, though technically it's only legal for use in private homes there. Same with San Francisco, except the smell was present there all damn day. I rarely actually saw people lighting up, but definitely smelled it.

It's completely legal where I live, and there are stipulations as to where you can or can't do it. But in the privacy of your own home is just fricking stupid.

There will always be things in this world that people do that you don't like. If what their doing is legal and just hurts your delicate sensibilities, that's your problem. That's called living in a society. Get the frick over it.

I get annoyed when parents bring their small, unruly children onto airplanes or into nice restaurants. But I've never advocated that parents leave their kids at home when they travel or want to go out to eat because they should be mindful of my feelings.

The only people I know who doesn’t smoke is those that can’t because of job obligations/drug tests.

So there’s that.

Also not a fan of exposing others to second hand smoke of any kind.

quote:

when you are around someone who is smoking marijuana, the smoke gets into your system too. How much of it gets in depends on how close the person is, how many people are smoking and how much, how long you spend near them, and how much ventilation there is in the space. But research is clear that cannabinoids, the chemicals that cause the “high,” get into the bodies of people nearby — including children.

This is not good. Besides the fact that we don’t want children getting high, or exposed to the dangers of inhaled secondhand marijuana smoke, there is the additional concern about long-term effects on the brain. While research is still ongoing, there is evidence to suggest that when youth and young adults (whose brains are still developing) are exposed to marijuana, it may have permanent effects on executive function, memory, and even IQ...

As legal use of marijuana grows more common, we need to create the same kinds of rules and laws we’ve created to protect people from secondhand tobacco smoke.

Just because something is legal doesn’t mean it’s safe. And when we make choices that have risks, it’s not fair to impose those risks on other people — especially children, and especially when they could literally be harmed for the rest of their lives.

quote:

Exposure to second-hand marijuana smoke leads to cannabinoid metabolites in bodily fluids, and people experience psychoactive effects after such exposure. Alignment of tobacco and marijuana smoking bylaws may result in the most effective public policies. More research is required to understand the impact of exposure to third-hand smoke and the health effects of long-term exposure to second-hand smoke.

If there are stipulations and they are not abiding by those rules, then what they are doing is not legal, regardless of my “delicate sensibilities”.

And? People do illegal shite in public all day every day.

Again, do you take your daughter to college campuses on a gameday? What about Mardi Gras? Jazz fest? Public parks?

The only people I've seen smoking in public are the homeless and white trash.

We have cannibis cafes and on site useage. I think you should be able to smoke in public, at bars etc.

It's up to parents to protect children. Do not take your kid places where it occurs.

Yes, wonderkid smelling weed in a "big city" definitely means it's widespread.

I smoke a little now and then while out and about. Mostly my pen but I'm always mindful of others.

Dude, we smelled weed at Disney last week. fricking Disney...

If I can’t take my kid to the overpriced mouse without smelling weed, I’m not the one who has the problem.

You do you. I support this 100%. Hell, I support you smoking it too, just be mindful is all.

A couple of people smoking can stink up a big area. It's pretty ask to ignore.

When people are smoking in public like others do cigarettes, your complain will be legit.
