There is nothing wrong with snap pops.

I have thrown back on occasion. But its usually when I spot that drunk ahole on the float that is humming gros packs at people not paying attention. I see one every 10 floats. I will watch them if I see them do it twice in a row they getting hit with a ball of cheap beads. You can easily tell the ones that do it on purpose.

Fck yeah! Pass it and enforce all that stuff.

If you walk down Orleans today, you can probably see a paint outline of some guy claiming his 50 X 30' spot. The ropes will follow as the parade gets closer

I think I misunderstood then. If people are roping off their *own* private property, then yeah, this isn't reasonable at all.

This is how I was reading it since they used the term "private areas." If they're trying to stop people from roping off public property, then I don't see a problem with it.

And I don't think snap pops should be banned. That's pretty ridiculous IMO.

Orleans is a war zone . I am happy I am on the float and not in the crowd.

What about the ones you're supposed to throw back at?

Chaining ladders together.
Placing ladders closer than 6 feet to the curb. Roping off private areas.
Riding the exterior of a vehicle in a parade. The placing of private portable toilets in the public right of way, including neutral grounds. The placing of tents, grills and other personal items in the public right of way.

Ladders, ropes, and tents are the big ones I agree with. I hate that shite. I don't care about port-a-johns or snap pops.

I do this on Sunday before Mardi gras. It's a family atmosphere. We've never had any issues. I live on the Avenue. The tent is there for the kids. How else am I supposed to grill my oysters and enjoy Thoth?

eta...We don't rope anything off. That's just stupid.

I don't agree with these at all. Agree with the others though

I was wondering that myself. I would HOPE that it would only be enforced if people were throwing back at floats with riders.

And the fricking pop-up tents. Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh, the fricking pop-up tents. Lee Circle is a damn nightmare now with those fricking things. People can cover a 12' x 12' area for 2-4 people. It makes it virtually impossible to get around in that area.
