I'm shocked there isn't currently a law against humming things back at the float riders. What a dick move.

I rode before and on floats people actively try to hit parade goers who aren't paying attention.

I would also say no setting up before 5am the day of a parade too.

I would love to see NOPD enforce this on Fat Tuesday. I can't sleep at night b/c of the people setting up for Zulu. It would be comedic gold.

I'm usually the a-hole that sets up a tent, a tarp and some ladders and then leaves. People see the tent and think someone is in there.

always on St. Charles. Pre-Katrina we had an RV we would park under the overpass at lee-circle. Would get a ticket but it was worth the ticket for that spot.

I don't have a problem with people setting up as long as it's towards the back of the neutral ground. But I leave my place on St. Charles at 6 to head to the Marigny/Quarter. It's amazing how many people and pits are going at that time.

yup, set up your stuff behind the street car tracks, and dont make solid barricades, and i dont mind at all if you have grills, tents, chairs, coolers etc... its a shame people cant just get along and act reasonable about it.

I understand the neighbors not wanting to see porto potties lined up all over the place, but the city really needs to step up and do something about having an area with a shitload of them or something.
People need places to piss.

The same neighbors will be bitching when people are pissing in their yards. Yuppie arse Uptown folk don't think about repercussions, they'll just change the law back to what's more beneficial for them next year.

I ride in Thoth and we don't play that shite. If you hit someone a little hard on accident, that's one thing. Purposely trying to hum shite at people is fricked up. Unless you know them of course.

I hit a lady on accident a couple years back, hard as frick too. One of the worst feelings I've ever had.

I always try to make eye contact before throwing, priority is always to kids....

last priority is to the minority types who come up and bang on the side of the float and say "gimme a blinky bead"

I was talking to a Lt in Thoth last year.

But it may be years before I do another Mardi Gras.

I already booked a vacation for '15 Mardi Gras, going to Disney this mardi gras and went to Tennessee last one.

Biggest daytime parade in Mardi Gras, this will be my 5th year. We usually have a spot open up every other year or so on my float; if you change your mind one year let me know.
