I’m glad there’s Mardi Gras. I’ve been to more than I can remember. And now I don’t want to go to them anymore. Like ever.

Anyone else who wants to go - have a good time.

His about a cold Mardi Gras day crow pie?

Rainy one?

Cold dreary Mardi Gras are not a fun as warm sunny ones especially with elaborate costumes.

From my experience The Light and Warmth of the Sun definitely helps the experience with colors and lowers one's inhibitions.

It’s cool to hate Mardi Gras because people are lazy, embarrassed about how they look, lack self confidence, are “too cool” to wave and shout for beads, god forbid have to listen to bands and music and maybe dance. Dorks.

For those with kids, take them to a parade. Put a smile on their face.

I think it can be a lot but it’s enjoyable for me. And having been a rider before was an awesome experience. I can see why people would want to stay home during Mardi Gras but the people lambasting it would probably be better off in a place like Frisco or the Woodlands.

I’m not old, angry nor miserable.

I just think Mardi Gras is dumb as shite and it’s pathetic seeing people on my fb who I am friends with when in lived in Mobile get excited about buying moon pies, beads and ugly prom dresses.

Having said that, it’s a mobile and LA thing and they can have all of that dumb shite

Racist hint (in my post)

quote:

You people that constantly look for this shite are the worst

100% agree, especially constantly and those who look for it with keen sense of nuclear bomb about everything.

Prefer the racist hints are not so obvious and placed neatly into readers laps, like they are too often on this board, and particularly in posts about New Orleans.

One does not preclude the other, unfortunately, sir.

Now, go enjoy Mardi Gras and New Orleans! Life is too short!

...for apathy, acrimony and racism (hints)

Ehh, I do love Mardis gras. But driving around mid city, the streets are torn up, parts look like a war zone. You have lights out all over the city.

You’d think a city that prides itself on big events and tourism could make it a little nicer for the tourists.

So if I told you I walked by some dudes selling used security doors, would that be racist? Or only shite you see in shite hole cities.

It's racist to point out the group that commits the vast majority of that crime I guess.

I love Mardi Gras in New Orleans too, but I love the windows on my vehicle, and not having to file insurance claims more.

I don’t like Mardi Gras. But if other people like it I don’t care at all.

I enjoyed it in my teens and early 20s. I'd be fine never going again now though.

It doesn’t appeal to me anymore, not like it did in my 20’s. I’m not going out of my way to do Mardis Gras. Maybe I just live the boring cubicle life now with two kids
