Well… I guess we can’t use the

‘P’ word for ‘psycho’ out of respect for people with psychotic disorders also ‘loony’, ‘mad’, ‘nutter’…

‘M’ word for ‘maniac’ out of respect for people with bipolar disorder

‘S’ word for ‘schizo’ out of respect for schizophrenia

Also can’t use ‘on the spectrum’, ‘OCD’, ‘handicap’ in golf, ‘inbred’, ‘spaz’, ‘crip’, ‘nerd’, ‘borderline’, ‘anti-social’, ‘narcissist’, ‘demented’, ‘mental case’, ‘head case’… out of respect for people with those disorders and/or conditions.

It isn’t the word it is in fact how people use it when directing it toward those with disabilities. Mental retardation was in fact what many government facilities used in their name through the 90’s.

The word is fine when used appropriately but most like to use it as a derogatory word..in “jest” or not.

The only people that get upset about the word are people who aren't retarded.

So no more calling the late for class special ed kids tardy?
