That is a side effect. Not the reason. I know quite a few people who struggle somewhat financially because they send their kids to private school. Those families are willing to do so because they want what is best for their kids. Personally, I have a lot of respect for their decision.

It's a proposed solution to a crumbling education system. Counter with another option if you feel it's a bad proposal.

Is your proposed solution is governmental shutdown of private schools so that kids of parents who care enough to pay (again) for their kids schooling are forced to send them to the public option?

That's as liberal of an idea as you can come up with.

If you think public schools are that bad, then choose to pay for your kids education.

Fair enough. I should have said private schools are filled with students whose parents are willing and able to pay thousands in tuition. Either way, it’s not fair to compare them to public schools that are burdened with the riff raft.

Sorry not sorry I don’t want my kids going to school with distractions or bad influences. White or black or Mexican or Asian. Whatever I need to do to keep my kid in a positive setting to learn, I’ll do it.

Currently, my daughter goes to the #1 elementary school in the state. It’s a magnet school. My son just tested for the same one. If he doesn’t make it, we will be moving or building sooner than later

My wife told me about a suburban Texas school that has so many Asians in it, the white kids left Bc they couldn’t compete academically. Forget the name of it.

Maybe she is full of shite.

For sure. Comparing public schools to private schools is apples to oranges.

It isn’t really magic. Private schools don’t take much riff raff and if they do, they can get rid of them when they want. Parents know that. Teaching can go on uninterrupted.

My wife (no pics) grew up in Pennsylvania and went to public schools all the way up to her junior year of high school. When she moved to Louisiana and enrolled in a private school she thought something was wrong. All her life, the “bad” kids went to private schools because they were kicked out of the public school due to behavioral issues. Once you got kicked out, parents had to pay for private schools.

Maybe those northerners are on to something; discipline and accountablity.

My parents sent me to public school. But then again, my district had about 1% culcha so it was all good.

I would have gone to private school if that culcha percentage would have been over 25%

I'll also add that my mom is an uber lib and would never say what I said above but would still do it.

The state of Louisiana schools is not reflective of the teachers. You cant teach the unteachable.

What part of the school system do you work in?

The real answer is so much more complicated and depends a lot on the overall socioeconomic of the given region/parish and on demographics, which is a part of the problem we aren’t allowed to discuss honestly without being called racist.
This. I considered giving the shallow answer of 'get parents to stay together and start caring about their children/children's education', but I think you have to go deeper and it basically boils down to economics and/or a way to infuse values (e.g. Christianity) which will lead to better decision making...leading to better economics.

I've always wondered how much it would take to get kicked out of a public school here in Louisiana. And even if you do, the next one is forced to take youm

I know people who put their kids in private schools because there are less blacks. They’ll never admit it in a public setting. They have admitted it in private.

Why are you laughing? I know that's not the case (that Louisiana residents don't pay school taxes if their kids go to private school).

I wasn't the one who madethe statement, though.

Subtle sarcasm is lost on milllenials.

Might be a factor, but I don't think there are that many bruthas in Nebraska or Rhode Island. Pennsylvania is lily white outside of Philadelphia and to some extent Pittsburgh.

R-Kansas has a small private school population and a fairly large black population.

Nada. In fact I think tenure is bullshite and teachers have a ridiculous sense of self importance with a martyr complex

I just saying that regardless of the variables, anything more than 15% culcha is fricked.

Excuse my ignorance, but if Louisiana has a high percentage of kids in private schools then wouldn't that mean there is technically more money per kid in public schools? You can't 'opt' out of paying taxes that go towards the education system. Theoretically, if Louisiana has more money per student, then the education system should be fairing better?

Nebraska is full of Mexicans working on farms and meat-packing plants.

I have never been to Rhode Island, but I'd venture there are plenty ofbrothers. It only takes a few to cause disruption.
