The Tunica-Biloxi Reservation is in Marksville. Grand Casino Avoyelles is an engine casino.
Coushatta as well, also with an engine casino.
Chitimacha, another engine casino

Although they are only “state recognized,” they have managed to find avenues of federal funding. They are renovating several buildings across their service area through a 56 million dollar NOAA grant for UHN Rising to build several resiliency centers for its tribal members.
Every time I have heard from someone in tribal leadership in the last 20-30 years, they always claim they are “only” one step from full federal recognition like the Chitimachans in St. Mary.
The Chitimachans have their own government and have several tribal businesses that make being a Native American very profitable as they can masquerade as a disadvantaged Tribal owned business.

Cane Knife. He had a kid with the girl Letha
Also, when he was caught he had a pretty bad cut on his arm that needs surgery. He told the police that he wished he would have bled out before they found him.

Any news on the victim's identity/relationship to the perp?

The girl Letha is and Keagan have a child together. The child that was injured is a grand kid of Letha, but not Keagan.

It was actually his thumb. His thumb was partially amputated and dirty from his night spent in the swamp.
