Two words Open. Air.
So it's more likely to affect other people that want to avoid it than inside where everyone has made the conscious choice to be in that bar. Gotcha.

You have literally no concept of what smoking in open air means. Literally none.
Gotcha.
Gotcha.

People bitch about that too.
It seems entitled people believe all the air, inside or outside should be subjected to their whims.

that's my point entirely. that those same elected officials that they're so happy they elected in some forms of office are also enacting the laws that they're "protesting" at other levels of government.
and protest is a patriotic and civic duty. posting on a message board and complaining while calling other people "snowflakes"... less so.
i'd actually be super impressed if any of these whiners got off their arse to protest this smoking "ban".

A lot of bars are placed next to other business. If you go outside to smoke, you have a small chance to effect people that made no choice to go to a bar, while inside the bar everyone in there choose to be in that bar so either way there is no sympathy to have for them.

How do you know they don't?

That's ridiculous.

Somewhat. I'm also selfish and hate dealing with smoke.

I don't smoke, but these are private businesses doing nothing illegal. If I don't want second hand smoke, then I won't go to bars that allow smoking. WTF is wrong with Mandeville. My guess is limousine liberals or soccer moms (or worse...both).

You never "have" to deal with smoke.

It's baffling. I do love it when "conservatives" use the power of gov't to force other people to do what they want them to do. Then, they'll bitch about other people doing the same thing to them regarding abortion, gun rights, drug legalization, etc, etc

How about you quit being a pussy and walk outside to smoke your fig.
I don't smoke. Never have. I don't need daddy government helping me to avoid smokers.

You're right, not anymore. Thanks to local governments.

What makes you think these are conservatives?

You don't have the right to drink in a bar either. The business owner chooses to allow you to drink but can remove that privilege to you if he so chooses. It's his business, he is the one with rights pertaining to that bar, you have privileges.
okay. a gun owner should be able to sell a gun to a child. a blind child. a blind child who has an unnecessary muscle spasm on his index (re: trigger finger).
regulations exist. businesses aren't monarchies.
quote:
Let both sides have a choice.
you're not understanding. you have a choice to not notice that i'm not smoking. i have NO choice to notice that you're not smoking.
smoking infringes on the rights and person of others. non-smoking does not.
your smoking affects you and everyone else around you whether they choose to smoke or not. my non-smoking affects me and only me.
it's not that hard.
quote:
You're at a place where you drink to damage your liver. It makes sense to have different standards of health between a bar and a frickin hospital.
and we do have different standards of health. and that standard of health for what happens in a public place is changing. so:
hospital = used to be okay, not anymore.
airplanes = used to be okay, not anymore.
restaurants = used to be okay, not anymore.
bars (everywhere else in the U.S.) = used to be okay, not anymore.

Goes to show that people love to have government dictate their own personal standards on others.
Social conservatives and progressives.

let's find out and ask them.
hey smokers, are you out marching for your rights to smoke inside a store or are you mildly inconvenienced and just bitching on a message board?

That's ridiculous.
is it? so what are you trying to say? that these dudes are the MLK's of smoker's rights and we're in goddamn selma right now?

You're too emotional to discuss this right now. Take a break, take off the panties, put on boxers and come back.
Posted on 6/25/17 at 1:15 pm to RogerTheShrubber
People using panty jokes probably shouldn't be accusing anyone of being emotional.
