Anyone on here has a kid that plays competitive soccer for GSC (Gonzales Soccer Club).
I get an email earlier this week asking for volunteers (parking, concessions, etc).
I get another email last night stating the volunteering is mandatory.
sorry

So basically they are requiring that you work for free?

Pretty much did, especially since my daughter's team isn't even playing in this tournament.

I mean what can they do? Fine your child? Let's see how that works out in court.

Daughters gymnastic place has these meets where they charge entry fees($40) on all the gymnast, but they mandate parents to work the parking lot and concessions. One or two shifts are required per child, and if you don’t it’s $50 per shift.
They are probably making 10 or 15 grand on the weekend, just hire some people.

Inform them that there are no more consonants and ask them if they'd like to buy a vowel or solve the puzzle.

Playing Midnight Madness?
One of my favorite tournaments as a kid.

We would have played in this tourney but it's Dutchtown's homecoming, and 80% of the team go to DT.
Due to the lack of teams at this age (14-15 girls), there's not that many teams that play competitive, so we only have four tournaments (2 in Fall, 2 in Spring).
We played in this tournament last year and was the only 03 girl team, so the other 3 teams (that were 04) had to play up. It wasn't even close.

The travel ball team I coached would require parent work the gate/concessions for the tournament we hosted.
It was expressly written in the contract they signed to play. It was expressly written explaining we are charging less in terms of fees due to the monies raised in our tournament. We even made it a point to tell the parents at tryouts and on our first practice.
Still got complaints
