Don't most places have laws that state if a murder happens during a crime being committed then everyone that is a part of said crime can be charged with murder? Or did Law and Order lie to me?

I wonder if there is evidence that he blocked Arbery in and forced him to run back towards the McMichaels

This statement the McMichaels gave police seems to indicate it's a possibility.
quote:

McMichael stated he and Travis got in the truck and drove down Satilla Drive toward Burford Drive. McMichael stated when they arrived at the intersection of Satilla Drive and Holmes Drive, they saw the unidentified male running down Burford drive. McMichael then stated Travis drive down Burford and attempted to cut off the male. McMichael stated the unidentified male turned around and began running back the direction from which he came and "Roddy" attempted to block him which was unsuccessful. McMichael stated he then jumped into the bed of the truck and he and Travis continued to Holes in an attempt to intercept him.

McMichael stated they saw the unidentified male and shouted "stop, stop, we want to talk to you". McMichael stated they pulled up beside the male and shouted stop again at which time Travis exited the truck with the shotgun. McMichael stated the unidentified male began to violently attack Travis and the two men started fighting over the shotgun at which point Travis fired a shot and then a second later there was a second shot. McMichael stated the male fell face down on the pavement with his hand under his body. McMichael stated he rolled the man over to see if the male had a weapon.

Giving this guy murder charges is a huge reach. He will walk before he gets convicted of a murder 2 charge.

Yes, it’s called felony murder.

Felony murder is a charge that is leveled at members of a group in the act of committing a felony and someone is killed.

Not necessarily if they have witness statements that hold up the story that he also helped chase Arbury around the neighborhood and that he blocked him in to force him towards the McMichael’s truck. That makes him an accomplice at that point.

ETA: Have to remember we only got a 30 video of a pursuit that occurred for a few minutes unrecorded.

He's gonna take a plea deal long before his murder charge reaches a jury.

Only if operating under the assumption that this was a lynching and the whole posse set out to kill him from the beginning. Whoever is leveling these charges is a moron

Someone already posted the GBI explanation of charges. It fits the legal definition in Georgia.

I’d say they have a better legal grasp than we do.

If a group of 3 broke into a house and one of the 3 went rogue and shot the homeowner, would you want all 3 to be charged with murder?

Dear lord, please annex everything south of the Atlanta airport and just give it away. Florida, South Carolina, Alabama, just take it.

Please.
