Problem with it is that they are citing the OWNER of the vehicle, not necessarily the lawbreaker.

Same here. Got three within a week in Baton Rouge. I was just moving here and it took them over a month before they arrived at my address in Georgia. Took them and threw them in the trash. Received 2nd and 3rd notices. Threw them in the trash. Got a letter saying i was going to be sent to collections. Threw it in the trash. That was over 2 years ago. Was told by a lawyer that if it ever hit my credit, file a dispute claim against them and they have to take it off. Have never heard a thing about it again. Guess they got the picture after the third or fourth time it wasnt going to happen.

I believe there was a study done in Louisiana where over 35 to 40 percent of these tickets go unpaid.

Some cities around the country, are literally trying any angle they can to get around state laws and still rob their citizens.

I can remember arguing with the idiot Mayor of st.louis on Twitter about it. And literally having to call him out on, and quote the state law, and how he's a scheister and a crook, and robbing the citizens is embarrassing. He would make up some red light accident numbers and then quit responding.

They all got greedy from that easy cash and didn't give a shite if it was illegal or not. Drunk on the funds

Kinda throws out the "innocent until proven guilty" idea, eh?

New Orleans Gives Everyone The Finger

This is why I don't visit N.O. anymore. I had a speeding ticket, 42 in a 35 around this time, which I still have not paid, but all these assholes got a free pass. frick that city.

That's bullshite. You are no obligation to disprove your guilt and assign it to someone else in an effort to clear yourself. That's not how the Constitution works.

If you are to be found guilty of a criminal violation, the state must prove that you perpetrated the act. They must build their case without your proof or testimony.

I'm in law enforcement and red light cameras are the most shady-arse revenue grabs I've ever seen.

I was agreeing with the OP and got down voted to hell. Guess I need to be able to make my point more clearer.

Don’t like speed cameras? Use them to punk your enemies.

Students at Richard Montgomery High School in Maryland have discovered that they can duplicate the license plates of their archenemies by printing a Maryland plate template on a sheet of glossy photo paper and digging up a handy license plate character font, according to a parent speaking to The Sentinel . This may sound like a janky craft project at first, but these cameras are not sensitive enough to pick up the differences between these paper license plates and the real things. The students then tape the faux plate over their own and purposefully speed in order to be caught by the speed camera, causing the real owner of the license plate to receive a $40 citation in the mail.

People don't like the cameras because they're not "sporting."

I've long held that camera tickets are CLEARLY unconstitutional and if someone/enough people took the time and money to fight it all the way, the high courts would agree.

The high courts have been stacked with libs who don't give a shite about the constitution. It's a crapshoot either way.

I clicked the link and saw that the article is written by Adam J. McLeod.

That's the smartest a-hole I've ever met.

If I am accused of something I didn't do, whether running a red light or 1st degree murder and I know who did it, I can guarantee you I will pass that information on to LE. Money grab or not, I am happy to have law breakers chip in to the public coffers if it means I possibly pay less!
