It wasn’t. He admits in the video he had no idea about it and that some busy body friend of his had to alert him about the fun the white people were having so he could be outraged

He can still retain his homestead exemption based on louisiana's seizin laws. Although many tax assessors frick the citizens by requiring a jop before a person can get their exemption, the ag wrote an opinion on this years ago.

I think most of the commenters seem to think these people just plopped down on some random street.
I'm almost positive at least a large chunk of the block party group lives on that block.
