Or better yet, why couldn’t OP’s wife handle it like an adult herself. She should’ve text the guy back letting him know she wasn’t comfortable with the joke and went on about her business.

Have your wife text him that she could really use his massage services and invite him over. You lay down naked except for a towel over your butt on your bed. She leads him to your room and when she opens the door she says “he has a lot of tightness in the buttocks area that I’m sure your can help with. I’m going to run an errand” and leaves him there to massage you.

Go up to him. Make small talk. Makes sure he knows who you are. See how he acts toward you. If he’s being a slimy shite ask him about the texts and before he can even respond you tell him to shut the shite down. Then you throw in something like does he understand you. Don’t be a bitch.

yes, I am bothered that a man at our family oriented pool thought it was OK to prey on my wife's emotions and insecurities about our child

No kidding. A “thanks but no thanks and I’m happily married” text back and be done with it. Then block the number and forget about it. If your wife is even moderately attractive op, guess what, it won’t be the first or last time she’s hit on.
