The homeless in Charleston are pretty awesome for the most part. It’s more “how about that weather today? Awesome right?”
they aren’t pricks like the ones in D.C.

So million dollar question...how did he get there after leaving his place on the west side of the peninsula after 2 a.m.?

Occam's Razor applied, he either passed out from intoxication and fell into the water or intentionally jumped off the pier near Rainbow Row. Both very tragic.
The pier is a 20 minute walk down Tradd from his house and it's due west of the island on which he was found. Don't get caught up on the specificity of the language in local news articles; he was washed ashore because the tide was going out and the island kept his body from floating further. Call it "on" or "near" the island; it's the same.
His fiancé was out of town. They own a $1.4M home together and she is the Vice President of her father's company. She doesn't need the money. She is undoubtedly the breadwinner.
He's a young anesthesiology resident engaged to a girl from a powerful, high-achieving family. There must be a lot of pressure on him. Add alcohol to the mix, and it's not a good outcome.
May he rest in peace.

I've been super hammered before and not once did I think hey I'm gonna go jump in the harbor. And this wasn't some vagrant, it's a medical student.
Well in that case, I would think no one in recorded history has ever gotten hammered and jumped into a body of water at night.

That's a lot of good inside info for a first post.
I didn't see anywhere where they said where on Ashley he lived.
I still want to know why he went home after 2 a.m. and then left again at that hour. If you're going to go jump off the pier why stop home first? To put on your swimsuit?
That's also kind of a long walk when you're blackout drunk (not to mention good luck on those sidewalks), the pier at the south end of Waterfront Park is SOUTH of the island so he would've washed out past it, and the pier at the upper end of the park should have cameras because it's such a popular destination.
ETA: If he really did live there just go jump in Colonial Lake.

Also, I have a hard time believing a body would wash up on one of those islands...I think it would instead wash right out to sea.
Oh man Frank Costello is going to be pissed.

There's a page out there with minutes from an HOA meeting that lists his address and fiancé's name. I won't share that outright here but, it's there. Found via Google searching.

I'd like to know that too, but I don't. Second guessing?

I have wondered if we'll learn that there is in fact footage from the bridge. From looking at a map, the bridge seemed too far from the island, but I don't know that much about tides.

Jump into a lake as a way of taking your own life? I don't think so.

Ahhhhh, you think he was taking his own life. Jumping into dark harbor waters with lots of sharks at 3 a.m. on an outgoing tide is one of the more terrifying ways I can think of to do that.
That said, if he made his way to the Ravenel him ending up near that island would make sense. But there's also cameras all over the ped/bike lanes on the bridge so they'd be able to get that footage.

Bruh, he's a college student and drunk. The amount of dumb shite that college students do after 2am is long and notorious.
Did he not have his phone on him? Chances are he was using it.
The most logical explaination is he got into an argument with his girlfriend, a hook up, or a friend.
He went home hoping to meet someone at his apartment and it didn't happen, so he went back out.
In college I left the bar and took an alley home that had a loading dock. I somehow fell off the loading dock and walked away with a bleeding head and got 6 stitches that night. WTF was I thinking or doing? No idea, I was just drunk. I literally could have been any of these guys.

Dude left his apartment to find some blow at 2am. I know that portion of the east side very well and it isn’t that nice after 2am depending on certain factors. Probably got accosted by someone. I’m sure they dumped his body in the Cooper. It washed up on Castle Pinkney later as the tide went out.
Case solved.

He’s a 31 year old anesthesiology resident at a medical school, hardly your 20 year old communications major at LSU.

Yeah, sorry, that's what I was implying by intentionally jumped off the pier originally.
I do think the bridge makes the most sense with the info I've seen. I think we'll see or hear about footage or witnesses at some point.

You really know almost nothing about this case.

Did you start this thread to remind everyone that you live in Charleston?
The guy lived off Ashley near Colonial Lake which is nowhere near where you live and he was last spotted around Broad and East Bay even further from where you live. If you walk up East Bay you’ll hit the walking path for the bridge and if you jump off the bridge there’s a decent chance you’ll wash up on Shutes Folly Island. Not a difficult mystery to figure out.

To be fair to Chucktown_Badger, he was last spotted alive near Columbus and East Bay. Hence my last post anbout the East Side. Opposite side, but even further from where C_B lives.
